Imperial Preference (An Idea, but needs working}
Another proposal I would like to make would be that of the idea of Imperial Peference. This would mean the introducing of "blocks" as it were within different regions. By putting tariffs on goods outside regions, industry within regions would be able to survive, and would not be destroyed by sweat shops in other regions as is often the case as of late. Therefore it would help each economy grow and help for the increase in growth across the world, rather then economic giants taking over all the money.
I would like to see what others think on the matter and maybe put forward ideas to help.

what do you mean?
what do you mean?
I believe he is talking about protectionism, and an almost complete destruction of free and fair trade throughout the world.
Free Trade destroys businesses around the world, and makes unemployment high. With Protectionism (or Imperial Peference) you can make sure businesses survive, and that people still get the goods the deserve.

... and with that statement, Posul is added to Frisbeeteria's list of "deranged lunatic nations with delusions of education" and henceforth ignored.

"Free trade stops wars. One world. One Peace. I am sure I saw that on a banner somwhere"
(OOC - The West Wing is an endless source of good quotes)
Thats not what people without jobs would be saying.
This organisation just seems to make little decisions that really affect no one! This would help stimulate trade! Improving peoples lives in every country would be great! Free trade just means more misery! And it causes one thing "DEBT!" Debt causes misery and more wars. By protecting your own economy you give your country more time to grow and also help people to get jobs and more money therefore making the economy better. If you have free trade large countries can just swarm smaller countries with their surplus food etc, leaving smaller countries with a ruined economy.
By making sure that all economies are protected and so countries can grow in economic strength. Rather then sitting back and watching all the big countries get all the money. This doesn't mean that big countries will suffer too much, if their products are good then people will still buy them.
Imperial Peference will only mean a rise in things such as primary and secondary industries, tertiary industries will not be affected too badly.

I have a strong Widget industry. It has grown over the years, and it doesn't use slave labour, or child labour. All my widget makers earn a fair wage for a fair job. It is also a very large international industry - I trade with around six hundred nations around the world, in various regions.
GeminiLand has a pretty crappy Widget industry. Cause they don't make good widgets. I couldn't tell you why, but I only know in taste tests mine totally outstrip the GeminiLand widgets and no one buys them.
But then along you come with your protectionist proposal, and bang - my industry is cut by a factor of ten. Because now the Government of GeminiLand can now INSIST that it's people all buy their widgets from their own nation, despite the fact they are vastly inferior. So while GeminiLand, and their pathetic Widgets, make money, my factories stand idle and most of my people are out of a job. Despite the fact that - in a free and fair market - I am the best Widget maker.
Protectionism leads to isolation, resentment and - quite possibly - to war. It destroys industries and it destroys lives. If GeminiLand can't compete in the open widget market then it should get in to something else, or learn to do better. That is what Free Trade is all about.

Posul, I suggest you do not meddle with something that you do not understand.

Utterly wrong. Free Trade is THE option small countries have to grow, because small countries don's have market's big enough to develop their industries.
I refer you to the example of Chile (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chile)
