Misunderstanding of resolution. Mods, please lock this thread.

UN Resolution 4 reads:"The UN shall not be allowed to collect taxes directly from the citizens of any member state for any purpose."
This means that effectively the government of a UN nation has no source of income. This resolution is also ignored by almost all, if not all governments.
Therefore, I beleive it should be repealed.

Please endore this repeal.
You have totally misunderstood the resolution. It doesn't say that the members of the UN can't collect taxes, it says that the UN itself can not collect taxes.
If you repeal this it will allow the UN to tax our nations.
Don't endorse the repeal.

The Kingdom of Heiliger do not endorse the repeal.
the armed republic of vendom does not support this repeal because it does not make sense for the UN to tax their own organization

I'm sort of at a mixed opinion on this. On the one hand, I don't like the idea of the UN directly taxing the people. (Well technically they would tax the government and well the government has to tax somebody, so the government taxes the people.) On the other hand I do think we need some funding mechanism for operations.
In the ideal world we could have a hybred solution. The UN proposes, the nations disposes. That is to say that the resolution would result in a proposed tax increase as a resolution in individual NS UN member's queues, and they could decide to fund or not depending on their own moral convictions, just as member nations do to the real world UN all the time.
Alas, that would be a code change, and besides if NS UN nations can't avoid lesislation like real world UN nations, why should they avoid paying taxes? No one really said that the NS UN should ever be fair.
Taxes, however would be a very strange beast, if I understand the general system correctly. Even if we could propose a resolution that resulted in a 1% increase in taxes, there is no reason why a later resolution might not just reduce all taxes. All the very complex proposals for "funding" the UN are actually either imposible to implement or require code changes at the very least. The simplest problem is simply "We resolve that we are going to pass a law to raise our taxes to throw money at something for the time being."
As I said above I am of two minds of this. One mind doesn't like the idea. The other mind is hopelessly corrupted by the dark side of nation states ... hey you joined the UN, tough cookies. I don't think I'm going to be talking to that side in the near future ... :p
Axis Nova

The UN will never be allowed to directly tax Axis Nova, regardless of the status of this repeal.
As such, this repeal will fail.
Declined! If you wish to remove all nations from the UN and remove its power, then this repeal would do that job. This will never be allowed!
wow, that is an awful lack of understanding on the resolution....
Try reading it a few more times before repealling.

The Protectorate of Agerpineti does not endorse the repeal of this ban.
Ok, I am not sure whether you misread the Resolution or what. So I will try to be kind.
The Resultion DOES NOT PREVENT GOVERNMENTS FROM TAXING THEIR CITIZENS. It does however ban the UN from directly taxing citizens of member nations.
Former Russian States

The Nation of Former Russian States agrees that the UN should not tax member nations.
The Nation of Former Russian States agrees that the UN should not tax member nations.
It doesn't. Only by repealing this resolution, then actually putting in a proposal to allow the UN to tax it's member nations would that happen.
So don't support this repeal!
