Industrial Mining Act
A resolution to make mining fair on the business and the environment.
Category: Free Trade & Environment | Strength: Medium |
Description: In many countries and states mining is making inroads into natural habitats, threatening the animal population. In addition, those with large scale mining programs are crippling the industry of smaller scale programs found in countries attempting to protect their forests. I propose a fine for every encroachment into green field sites, increasing exponentially when compared to the area mined. For every attempt to protect land from industrial mining the fine will be decreased. I.e. mining underneath the forest without clearing it, replanting in disused quarries.

You can make something Free Trade OR Environment. Anything that limits business is by definition NOT Free Trade.

As this doesn't appear to actually be a submitted proposal, perhaps you ought to play around in the Submit A Proposal view for a while and see what your actual options are.

Thanks. The guys in my region were thinking "I'm not interested in any mining restricition" but I was just having a play around :D (\o/ for Mr.Green!)

Could you be a LIL more specific?

Er, about what? I'll guess at what you want.

Say, for every acre of forest/green land cleared the equivalent of 1000 um...whatever is the most common currency, I guess dollars, is paid to the UN which can be redistributed to Third World Countries.
For every scheme to decrease green site damage, or increase use of brown feld sites the fine for the area that is cleared is reduced by, er, 10%.

I see some good points in this, however my nation's mining program calls for replanting after mining in the possibility of large deforestation. If this resolution was better defined, I just might support it.

I guess a replanting program could be included in the same category as the mining under forests.
I'll do a redraft soon, my freetime suddenly vanished this week :headbang:

Our glorious leader was curious as to how you mine drafts, but apparently this proposal isn't about that at all......
