The history is it was created to test the mechanics of Nation States United Nations, and has done so quite well, ( because its all still here of course ) now, it was also probably inspired by world events of the time, you know, when slightly more things then usual were blowing up all over the place, and is an effective critic and social commentary on how world governments reacted, and perhaps how the U.N. did not ...

But seriously, I do support the effort to repeal this resolution, so long as the resolution that does so satisfies my standards.
The problem with this proposal is that it has been submitted too many times, by too many people and as such has split the support of the delegates. At this rate it will never pass.
As a matter of intrest I have endorsed ever one of the said proposals I could find.
