Repeal "Required Basic Healthcare"
A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution
Category: Repeal
Resolution: #17
Proposed by: Mikitivity
Description:
UN Resolution #17: Required Basic Healthcare (Category: Social Justice; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
Argument:
This motion is just a technical motion, but one for which the repeal system is ideally suited.
On Thu Jun. 26, 2003 this assembly adopted the ‘RBH’ Replacement resolution by a vote of 9,151 to 5,564, which included the following text:
____________________________________________
This resolution requires the following steps to be taken:
1) The resolution “Required Basic Healthcare” is to be no longer enforced by the UN.
2) The resolution “Required Basic Healthcare” is to be re-classified as a “reference- document resolution”.
____________________________________________
The original Required Basic Healthcare resolution was adopted on Thu Jun. 5, 2003 by a vote of 10,137 to 7,154. But as a later resolution implies this first resolution should have been re-classified as a reference document. The ‘RBH’ Replacement resolution was adopted prior to the establishment of the current repeal process.
This motion is just a formality, but is being suggested in order to stick to the intent and design of the ‘RBH’ Replacement resolution.
Approvals: 1
Status: Lacking Support (requires 130 more approvals)
Voting Ends: Fri Oct 1 2004
