I would support the propsal if the age was changed to 12, instead of 15.

let my exsplain better. I think that a limit is good, however some cultures have diffrent custums then others. so I think the age should be the lowest age motureaty

ooc: I believe that Pitcairn Island has an age of consent of 12. However, currently half the male population of Pitcairn is standing trial for under age sex abuse.

In order to change the resolution at this stage, one must resubmit a new one. Yours.

Working on the assumption you meant maturity, and not mortuary, I still disagree. Having definitive ages is only part of the problem, but a big part. Because the UN should not be able to defined what is a legal marriage and what isn't simply because some cultures believe twelve, thirteen, fourteen is too young to be married.

This post would be good, except it sounds like we have Michael Jackson behind the post.

There are some issues that are better left untouched by the UN. If the UN decides to force morality on the whole world, guess whose morality it will be? Western morality. The non-Westerners of the world (and there are, oh, about five billion of them) wouldn't appreciate that at all.
