Nuclear Ban Proposal

The Japanese People
19-09-2004, 20:15
This proposal invites all nations to help ban nations developing more than 5 nuclear weapons (this includes H-Bombs, Atom Bombs or any type of nuclear weapons.) This proposal includes –

1.) Nations may only develop or purchase 5 nuclear weapons regardless of invasion or threat from any other nation.

2.) Nations that buy nuclear weapons may not create their own nuclear weapon if they purchased the limit of how much it can have (Example – A nation buys 5 H-bombs, it cannot create or buy more. If it buys 2 H-Bombs, it can create or buy 3 more nuclear weapons.)

3.) Any nation found doing fraud by making more nuclear weapons will result in $500 million-$10 billion ban along with ban of creating or buying nuclear weapons.

4.) Nations may exchange weapons legally, not secretly, if they do, they must be fined $500 million-$10 billion

5.) Every nation must be informed of a nation developing, buying or exchanging nuclear weapons for their safety

6.) Nations that need funding to create weapons may ask other nations for materials/money but must pay the nation back.

Hi all, I would like to show you guys this proposal and ask you what I should correct and what I should add in here so I can submit it in as a proposal.

Thanks in advance

No offense, TJP, but it's dead on arrival. NS UN members won't vote to limit thier WMD when the rest of the NS world has no such limitations.

[I]This proposal invites all nations to help ban nations developing more than 5 nuclear weapons (this includes H-Bombs, Atom Bombs or any type of nuclear weapons.)....

What exactly do you mean by "ban"? Do you mean from the UN?

Any nation found doing fraud by making more nuclear weapons will result in $500 million-$10 billion ban along with ban of creating or buying nuclear weapons.

Again, I don't understand your definition of "ban" nor is it clear how this "ban" would be enforced and what the consequences of noncompliance would be....$500 million-$10 billion "ban" of who's money?

Nations may exchange weapons legally, not secretly, if they do, they must be fined $500 million-$10 billion

Would "secretly" exchanging weapons mean/include simply just two nations communicating through telegrams as opposed to broadcasting to the entire UN when they are purchasing or exchanging weapons?

Shouldn't nations have the right to keep their military capabilities as well as stockpiles of WMDs and WMD related program activity strictly classified for national security purposes?

Who determines what weapons exchanges are "leagal" and "secret"?

It's certainly not going to get my thumbs up.

Of course, if it does look like it is going to pass, I'll be inviting several non-UN nations the chance to bid on my stockpiles of nukes (in exchange for a mutual defence treaty, for example. Or tons and tons of currency).

Yes, what's even funnier is the proposal in no way addresses present stockpiles either. Tekania has hundreds of nuclear weapons, of various degrees and yields (from Strategic to Tactical use). Even if it were to pass, I would still have hundreds of nuclear weapons, with this proposal having no effect whatsoever on that present arsenal. It would only prevent my production of more.

And, this also does not address, as others have so eliquintly put it, the fact that it only prevents 30% of NS from massing Nuclear arms (The other 70% are still free to amass however many they want).

OOC:Yet another example of proposals that lack any understanding what-so-ever of the reality of the NS world/universe. Why can't these people think before they start typing out proposals.
