trafficking womens

Please, vote no on this resolution. My nation is not very big, and we have a population of more men than that of women, causing the women to take moer than one husband. This is sonmething that this government is not proud of, and does not want to be. Therefore, we turn our heads to the problems of trafficking. We do not regulate the business, but we keep a close eye on those who do it. We know that they are not taking women from other countries who are allies, or have a great global impact. Our secret police make sure that women taken are those who want to be brought here, they know the risks, and are wiling to take it.

If trafficking women gets our male to female ratio in check, making it possible for more nuclear families, then by all means, Hermaphriditic Cheese is happy to support the trafficking of women, as long as they are not being too abused.

The proposal is idiot, toothless, sexist, and "been there, done that".

Fundamentally a waste of the paper it's written on.

Just vote NO to UN waste of space and time...

Vote Against. My region is involved in a war of a nation of tyranny and this resolution passing would be detrimental to my economy!

Have you not read the UN Resolution? It bans FORCED prostitution...prostitution with both parties consenting is still considered statutory.

Why not vote for this resolution? It is certainly not worthless. Why do we waste all our time pretending to rule nations? Most likely because we want our nation to reflect the world we wish to live in. I don't want to live in a world where forced slavery of any sort is legal. Vote yes...you don't have anything to lose but agony.

And after all, its not like all slavery is already illegal under U.N. law, is it ?

...

End slavery

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Monocerous

Oh, will you just look at that ...

Description: The scourge of slavery yet remains in these progressive times. People are bought and sold like cattle, unable to determine their destiny. Their families are split apart; they are allowed no possessions of their own. They are beaten, chained, and tortured. Therefore, I propose that the following human rights be given to every peoples of this great world: - The right to leave her or his job, given two weeks' notice. - The right to own possessions. - The right to travel freely throughout their country. - The right to bodily safety from one's employer. - The outlawing of the selling or purchasing of people.

Votes For: 6939

Votes Against: 1753

Crikey, when did that happen ?

Implemented: Tue Jan 21 2003

Well fancy that.

If you'll excuse me please, I need to go hide from what-ever is lowering the literacy rate in Nation States ...

Call me paranoid, but people who enter a country (most often illegally), are forced into unpleasent situations and later somehow escape, can hold lots of dissent and anger. These people usually seek a way to release their aggression. Our government is targeted because we aren't covert like traffickers, and we are blamed for failing to prevent the practice. These individuals fall under the category of 'dissidents, terrorists & other subversives.'

In order to prevent this situation even before it crosses our borders, I have voted yes to the ban. This is my justification, to reduce our own internal security costs.

You'll note it only bans MEN coercing WOMEN and children.

That's it!

So, if I want slaves, I hire some Women to enslave women and children. Its outside the toothless ban. How about hiring Men to enslave men? Still outside the ban.

And SLAVERY IS ALREADY OUTLAWED!!!! That's like passing a law against men killing women - uhm, duh, murder is already illegal...

This proposal is nothing more then wallpaper, a repeat of what already is. It is sexist and useless, does not achieve what it seeks to, and is a thready repeat of something already done!

Vote NAY for stupid proposals.

Hahaha, you're right, Vastiva. Don't you just love the gapping loopholes in our UN?

But it wouldn't HURT to vote for and it might hurt to vote against it.

I think this law should be extended to man too. Then it will be great law to be passed for protection of human rights.

Hey, that’s no way to speak to yo momma! the woman who bore you. The woman who raised you. The woman who made you take out the trash, feed the dog, do the dishes, eat your veggies, kiss aunt ruth, sleep on the floor when your cousin came over, do your homework, file you income tax form correctly, turn on your turn signal, and put the toilet seat down, in fact she even made you shower at least once a month.

Eh, thinking about it, nevermind. Be as mean to her as you like.

Read it again, Goofy. *MEN* are not allowed to enslave women. Which is why I'd hire women to enslave women.

No, wait - slavery was already outlawed! So why do we have this new law? Because someone can't read!

How about a good bill against illiteracy in the UN constituancy?

I might propose a bill requiring all idiot nation-leaders to be put against a wall and shot.

I'll title it "Fluffy and nice ambiguous bill about saving bunnies from evil men who torture them"

It doesn't matter what it reads, because all the idiot nation-leaders will just godamn vote for it anyway.

Perhaps we should have an "end women's suffrage" bill...
