The proposal

Clean energy

A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: All Businesses
Proposed by: Boohbahstahn

Description: The negative effects of oil and other polluting forms of power generation are greatly damaging our planet. If nothing is done the future of humankind will be bleak. In order to try and save our planet we the Belkes of Boohbahstahn who represent TheBelkeLeague propose that all member nations of the UN implement programs that would strive for replacing polluting forms of power generation with much cleaner forms such as solar and wind power within the next 25 years. If this is done the future will be much brighter.

We support any proposal that will see a reduction in the burning of fossil fuels, but we need to have a more thorough proposal.

Since it makes no effort to restrain nuclear energy, we see this having no conflict with The Supremely Democratic States of Hirota's Uranium Mining.

However, we would like to see a much more complete proposal.

I agree with our esteemed colleagues from Ecopoeia and in any case the entire proposal is an opinion with no measures. I suggest the honourable member have a look at some previous resolutions, especially those written by the delegation of Mikitivity in order to understand how to charge nations with actually carrying out a measure.

Lastly, whilst I fully except that the honourable member from Boohbahstahn clearly cares about environmental issues, I ask them to consider doing some more research on this subject before tabling this proposal. The issue is much more complex than simply replacing fossil fuels with sustainable energy or nuclear sources. The real question that needs to be answered is how we will continue meet the exponential growth of global energy demands and do so in an environmentally friendly way?

Least it is slightly more acceptable then another energy related proposal on this forum, whose sciences are extremely ... well, you need only to suffer a reading of it, my words cannot describe ...
