Why not ban all sacrifices of living creatures while you're at it?
That would make a much more interesting proposal: no living being should be killed ("sacrificed") for religious purposes.

Banning animal sacrifice would be interfering with the religious practices of some faiths. It's a fine line between deciding what is moral, and being oppressive. One wonders which would be more important in this case; banning the animal killing, or banning the religion?
Human sacrifices are covered under most 'murder' laws. At least, they are in Mattikistan.

Although we agree in principal we feel that a UN resolution should not condemn peoples beliefs or gods. Condemn the practice, certainly, but not the religion.

Human souls are a primary source of food for our Dread Lord Cthuhlu, and a steady stream needs to be fed to him, lest he become irate and destroy the faithful along with the infidel. We are greatly opposed to a human sacrifice ban in the UN, and if such a ban is inacted, we will have to resign.
Also, our currency is Human Organs (one kidney buys 10 loaves of bread, and you can have a BMW for 350 hearts). If you ban human sacrafices, our money supply will dry up, and we'll be as poor as the sots in the Republic of Really Stinky Cheese. Our entire economy will be reduced to ruins. You can't destroy a countries economy like that!
Let me voice, once again, our strong opposition to this ban. And the one on sacrificing animals. I mean, we have a barbeque on Great Cthuhlu Day (August 13), and without animal sacrifice, what would we eat? Humans? Squids?!?! That's barbaric.

For God's sake, can't you people leave anything for a nation to decide anymore?! If Nevermoore wants to have the death penalty WE WILL, if we want to sacrifice people WE WILL! The UN will not stop us. Our sovereignty MUST be absolute!
