Crushinatoria

Joey Santiago, Secretary of State of the Grand Duchy of Crushinatoria today released the following statement concerning the defeat of the End Nuclear Proliferation Act:
"Today is a glorious day for the sovereign nations of the United Nations. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of an unprecedented coalition of nations concerned about the loss of their right to defend themselves, I am proud to be able to announce that today the End Nuclear Proliferation Act (ENPA) was defeated by a wide margin of 9955 to 7787. Less than a week ago, the ENPA seemed assured of passage, but the blood, sweat, and tears of our coalition enabled us to fight back and today declare victory in this fight.
While the defeat of the ENPA must surely be a bitter pill for its proponents to swallow, it is my government's hope that its defeat signals the beginning of a new era of cooperation among all member nations as we strive to produce sensible arms control treaties that enhance our collective security while respecting our individual sovereignty.
Thanking all the participants in this historic effort individually would surely consume several pages, so I ask that you pardon my insensitivity in issuing a blanket "Well Done!" to all nations involved.
Huzzah, I say to you all! HUZZAH!!"
