Political Hearing for the Support of the Elimination of Genocide
Statement from the High Council of Liberitius

We, the Elected Officials of Liberitius, find that defining crimes against humanity is necessary for world peace and for increasing the level of respectability of human dignity to the rest of the world. Although the Universal Bill of Rights covers rights given by political powers (religion, speech, press, legal treatment, fair treatment, unjust arrest) - the most important right - the right to exists and be is not stated. What good is the right to religion without the right to exist? It would be easy to kill that group then respect those above rights. One can be given a fair trial, express a religion, and follow the legal process, but then be sentence to die on the basis on religion, race, sex, creed, social standing, and so forth. This reason alone - protecting the human that those rights ensure - shows the need for and the reasons to vote for the Elimination of Genocide.

The resolution is not particular to minorities or even to majorities. It protects humans - no matter what they are defined as by their country or by the global society. No human should be killed on the basis of their biology, sexuality, or beliefs - it is actions that are judged, not beings.

We stand on this opinion and continue to argue and present until such a resolution is passed.

A vote yes is an influence to other nations not part of the UN - a spark toward equality and human dignity. A vote no shows the indifference that allows such crimes to exist.

Liberitius Elected Officials.

The right to exist is a funny old thing. Does it mean we don't die or that we have to be born? Effectively it's legislating nature.

If you pull out the bit about the right to exist you have my support.

Upholding the idea that humanity has dignity and not one person, state, nation, or other authority can remove such dignity, the elimination of genocide is being proposed.

Article I. Two Components of Genocide: Mental and Physical

Genocide shall be defined by having two components (a) mental component being the intent to destroy, in entirety or in part, a group who is identified as a national, ethnic, racial, sexual orientation, gender, sex, or religious group and (b) the physical component of the start, transition, or completion, in part or entirety, of the acts listed in Article II A, B, C, D, E and F.

Article II. Physical Acts of Genocide

(a) killing members of the group
(b) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group
(c) deliberately inflecting on the group conditions of life constructed to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part
(d) imposing measures intended to pervert births within the group
(e) forcibly transferring children of the group to another group
(f) denying the study, knowledge, or use (if applicable, language) of its identity.

Article III. Following Acts of Prosecution

(a) genocide
(b) conspiracy to commit genocide
(c) direct and public incitement to commit genocide
(d) attempt to commit genocide
(e) complicity in genocide

Article IV. Referendum on Article II-D

Oh my.

A well thought out, clear proposal, on a subject that many would regard as being well and truly within the UN's sphere of influence.

Whatever will they come up with next?
