Political Hearing for the Support of the Elimination of Genocide
Statement from the High Council of Liberitius
We, the Elected Officials of Liberitius, find that defining crimes against humanity is necessary for world peace and for increasing the level of respectability of human dignity to the rest of the world. Although the Universal Bill of Rights covers rights given by political powers (religion, speech, press, legal treatment, fair treatment, unjust arrest) - the most important right - the right to exists and be is not stated. What good is the right to religion without the right to exist? It would be easy to kill that group then respect those above rights. One can be given a fair trial, express a religion, and follow the legal process, but then be sentence to die on the basis on religion, race, sex, creed, social standing, and so forth. This reason alone - protecting the human that those rights ensure - shows the need for and the reasons to vote for the Elimination of Genocide.
The resolution is not particular to minorities or even to majorities. It protects humans - no matter what they are defined as by their country or by the global society. No human should be killed on the basis of their biology, sexuality, or beliefs - it is actions that are judged, not beings.
We stand on this opinion and continue to argue and present until such a resolution is passed.
A vote yes is an influence to other nations not part of the UN - a spark toward equality and human dignity. A vote no shows the indifference that allows such crimes to exist.
