Establishment of InterPol
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security Strength: Strong Proposed by: Jama Masjid
Description: As borders between nations become more solid and nations play devil's advocate only to prove their sovereignty and that they "don't bend to international pressure" (in order to get some votes at home), the righteous nations are increasingly worried regarding this. International gangsters and even more dangerous: religious terrorists, are buying themselves about 5 years as they simply cross the border to escape the pursuing police each time they do so. By the time their sheltering country decides to take action against them, they are in the country next to that.
Since we are aware of the fact that many nations feel their pride and sovereignty at stake if their neighbouring nation's police intrudes into their territory and picks up criminals, we propose an International Police, or InterPol. It will work in close co-operation with local police agencies, and it will respect the law of the land wherever they are.
This way, we bring the world together without risking anyone's pride or sovereignty, while we also punish the bad guys.
We propose on behalf of all righteous nations, to establish InterPol, which has as much right as local police, and is not answerable to your government but to the United Nations. For global interests, some national interests must be sacrificed.

What do you all have to say to this proposal? Please endorse it, many believe it to be important. We can clamp down on these international mafias that plague the world by simply jumping the border and bribing some officials.

There are fundamental flaws in this proposal.

*Most of the terrorist and militant extremist groups operate in non-U.N. member states, that would be outside of the juristiction of the proposed InterPol.*

I think a better idea would be a proposal to increase the amount and cooperation between U.N. member states covert operations forces for this purpose. Rather then making InterPol an all pervasive police force, turn it into a clearing house for U.N. members to trade covert information on these groups. At the most, InterPol could possess merely experts on these different groups, and then be dispatched at the time the local covert forces get leads, to act in a consultational type role. All pervasive police forces would be hard to handle, not to mention, it could lead to serious incidents..... Unfortuneatly as Tekanian law stands, if they were to violate our laws and proceedures, we would be forced to arrest the InterPol agent(s). Which could cause some serious diplomatic problems.

Considering Interpol is a RL concept, and NS doesn't play by RL rules, I'd say it's an invalid proposal/resolution-material.
