If this resolution passes than only nations that are NOT in the UN will be allowed to have nuclear weapons. This will make un nations more vunerable to attacks from other nations. I recommond that all nations vote against this proposal.

We concur. Nuclear weapons are a bad thing, but this won't get rid of them. In fact, I expect that some nuclear powers will quit the UN and then nuke UN nations simply to prove their point.

I agree.
Disarmament would be fantastic if only we could insure it would be safe.

Yes. Absolutely. Back when I was delegate of Warzone Airspace, someone asked me to support this proposal. I didn't.

I was initially in support of the proposal, but you bring up an interesting point.
Is the world safer that so many nations have nuclear weapons?
Would the world be in more peril if UN nations didn't have nuclear weapons?
Kind of seems like silly questions, but they are not.

My country wouldn't be.
With something like this either all nations participate or it won't work. NS is a diverse place there are a lot of countries that would attack for 'unfair' reasons, We would like to keep our defences against them. Just in case.

And while I am personally against the use and creation and stockpiling of nuclear weapons, I see where you are coming from.

We agree, only rouge nations outside of international law would then be able to commision Nuclear weapons, untill all Nations are within the UN, the United Nation-States must keep any weapons they hold as a detterance.

Providing the appropriate security and failsafe features are used, I would tend to agree.

I was personally at the National High School Model United Nations conference I was the delgate from New Zealand Our topic in the DISEC was nuclear weapons concerning North Korea and the war on Iraq. I think the only reasonable reponse is to end nuclear proliferation. Why would anyone want to let weapons of mass destructions multiply before our eyes :?: :!: :?: Nations with nuclear weapons should disarm. We need to make the world a safer place for our childern There are many  ideas in the works to get nations to disarm I think one of those proposals would be a worthy United Nations resolution.
