Remember me? I was very active here, thinking this was the best place to post on the NS forums. And it was, we had some lively and interesting discussions. I was planning on proposing a sweeping consolidation of all previous UN resolution that would clean up the inconsistencies and contradictions. Alas, it never happened.
Then, after a spurt of doing nothing, I resigned from the UN. Why? Here is the semi-rant that is meant to be an intelligent catalyst for change, not a flame or sarcastic poll.
First, UN members are sometimes shooting down intelligent proposals by claiming they are overstepping the UN's power, then they pass such laws as the 40 hour week, and vote for such resolutions as the abortion one which are national issues,
OOC NOTE: I am not saying I am pro-life. Different matter.
Second, people seem to have made the UN irrelevant. There is nothing the UN does to overly belligerent nations. All the resolutions are in a seperate world, floating free from the rest of NS. The entire UN is.
And, no conclusion, just what I said above. Which is why I resigned.
OOC: Hi Max!
EDIT: Took out "In all matters of war in the NS world, the UN never tries to help meditate a solution, it is always non-UN nations that help create a truce or ceasefire in conflicts," as it is irrelevant. I just want an intelligent debate about how to make the NSUN relevant and true to it's purpose.
