Individual Nation Abortion Control Rights

It essentially gives individual nations the power to control their own stance on abortion, rather than having other nations decide their policies for them.

Wow that has to be the fastest repeal attempt that I've ever seen, even before the resolution passes (which it appears it will).

The proposal has been deleted because it is in the wrong category. It should be "Moral Decency".

Additionally, as the current resolution on the floor is likely to pass, it isn't going to be allowed because it would constitute a repeal resolution.

[violet] is working on programming resolution repeals into NationStates. Please wait for this to be finished, first. Thank you.

Oh. My. God.

As many of you are aware (I presume) that I am an atheist, you can likely appreciate the strength of feeling I have when I say those words.

It's finally happening.

Agreed, to actually and FINALLY have the hope of UNDOING the stupidity of others.

Not to mention that the ability to REPEAL would likely make the class of competition much better then the current format, since instead of your resolution competition relying on how well you can get yes-men to vote in your pathetic 2 sentance excuse for a resolution, people would actually have to <GASP> spend time deliberating their resolutions in the forum first to ensure the resolution is capable of standing for all time! Looks like more people will need to take my latin quote to heart, in the forums

BTW. it is pronounced, as "Kee Day-seed-ar-ahnt Pah-saym Pray-Pah-rah-tay Bay-loom"

Off-topic, I know, but your pronunciation doesn't seem quite with what I've been learning in Latin for several years. I'd go for:
"kwee deh-si-deh-rahnt pah-kem preh-par-ah-teh beh-lum"

But that's just my opinion.

Actually, Romantic Latin (as opposed to church Latin) has the "c" making a hard sound, like a "k."

I'm a bit of a Latin buff, so sue me.

I was going for Classical Latin, which also has the hard 'c' sound. But that's beside the point, which is that:

[violet] is coding the game to allow appeals!

Without the repeals, I'd have to fall back on "Sic Semper Tyrannis"

As much as I love repeals I'm dreading the new breed of stupid proposals to come from this.

Picture it: 'Repeal all the commie resolutions.', 'Repeal the evil right wing resolutions', and 'Repeal the '

UN resolutions? Hah. I anticipate repeal attempts on whatever the latest controversial RL US law is.

Well, yes, there will be stupid repeals resolutions, but what I think the next step should be, would be mandating deabating in draft form, in the forums prior to their submission for all proposals. There would still be all the fighting, bickering and mind speaking, but it would become a tool to hammer out and forge strong and well-written resolutions. I am a capitalist at root, I believe in competition, but I also believe competition is a means to an end and not an end in and of itself.
