If half of the problems were resolved (most of them being game mechanical in nature) then you can be sure that the players will be paying to play.

As you quite rightly pointed out, it is a game. So if you don’t like the way in works you don’t have to play. There are a massive number of MMP games on the net. If this one does not work for you, then find something that will be more to your taste.

If you do want to stay I would suggest you work in the confines of the game and if you want to have a gripe, do so with intellectual argument and back up your thoughts, choosing to swear and rant only serves to alienate from the rest of the NS community. At least try and take the time to play the game effectively before you make this type of post. You might find that there is a great deal you can learn and you never know, you might even perhaps be able to offer something in return.

No we didn't know the game is crap, no one with their post in single figures has ever told us that before.

Telidia already said it: if you don't like it, don't play. If you don't like that the UN seems to be the only international body, try to make a NS NATO via the forums. Being that you are a new nation, I don't know if people will take you seriously.

FYI - I posted the previous message as a response to the moderator of the UN, who I guess has problems with my proposals. Obviously someone who takes this game seriously. I honestly hope no intelligent person really takes this game seriously.
And I have more than one country, and have posted to the forum before, and have so far been very displeased with the reality of this game. Simply because I want to rehabilitate my criminals instead of frying them does not mean that my crime rate will be extremely high, I think that has been proven throughout history. The US has some of the highest violent crime rates, as well as a very elaborate capital punishment system. This is in direct contrast to Australia, a country comprised initially of criminals with an extremely low violent crime rate. The biased opinion of the author of this game is in stark contrast to the actual occurence in real life situations. The blatant disregard to alternative multi-national organizations simply highlights his ignorance in the creation of this game. Sorry, his excuse for the exclusion of war is a bit lacking. War is a commonality in human history, and therefore must be included in any reality-based game dealing with global construction.
So sorry....this game is crap. Play another? Maybe.....but that doesn't mean that I cannot state my opinion of this severely-inadequate version of globalization. (ie. for those retards = crap)

NATO? The regional military alliance? Where did you get the idea they were a governing body? That aside, there's nothing stopping you from starting your own region and playing out your own regional government system there. Likewise, there is nothing forcing you to join the UN -- or even play this game.

To each his own. Some see a game with no features, others see a game which is both easy and quick to play and master. It doesn't take much time to open a web browser and click a few options for daily issues. Those wanting more interaction have these forums. Those wanting still more from a game can go spend money to purchase a more enthralling experience if they so desire.

NationStates was never intended to reach the scale it operates at today. I doubt it was even supposed to still be online at this point. Like I said, you can't expect a wealth of features in a game you aren't paying a dime for.

The UN is the ONLY world body. NATO is a regional security arrangement, without vast international support. The UN is the perfect choice for a game like this.
