The UN Committee on Illicit Arms Trafficking begins work this week to explicitly define its mission before proceeding on with objectives to plan the upcoming summit on combatting the black market trade in small arms and light weaponry. Nominees were automatically apointed given the body of submissions was under the threshold of nine members. Two late withdrawals were submitted by the nominees from SeOCC and Collaboration. Still, committee work will proceed as scheduled. The committee consists of members of the following nations:

Komokom - J.R. Grainger (National Defense Consultant)
Telidia - Admiral Patrick Stenson (Chief Weapons Expert)
Caras Galadon - Torin nan Huor (Chief Weapons Expert)
Knootoss - Ambassador Ruud de Vries (International Security Expert)
Sophista - Gennady Lukanov (Weapons Engineer)
Lavenrunz - General Hans Schlabel (Former Minister of War)
The committee has set up a website still largely under construction pending submission of data from various sources which can be viewed at:
http://unciat.official.ws
Proceedings will be held largely on the off-site forum, but updates will be posted regularly to the UN forum in order to keep UN members and delegates abreast of the situation as efficiently as possible. Within the next two weeks, the committee will be looking for input regarding the scope and agenda of the international summit and will be telegramming a significant number of delegates in order to gather views on the matter. However, please be aware that a thread will exist within the UN forum as well to gather such views, and UN members with thoughts on the matter should keep a watchful eye on the forums in order to submit their thoughts.
