Friends both regional and international it is time we took a stand against the UN's governing body and make the first recall of a resolution brought up and passed by the UN. A 111 vote margin is the closest resolution vote we have ever had in UN history and this was the worst resolution passed in UN history! Delegates and members like myself, by approving and voting for this recall we can ensure progress in our world economy and stability.

Stop your whining. Workers' rights will not kill your economy. If you don't give them the 8 hour work day, then anarchists will probably strike to get it. In fact, we are sending anarchist agents to your country for just that purpose.

haha.

somebody was saying that anarchists shouldn't force companies to only make people work 40 hours because it 'goes against anarchism' or something. i resisted the urge to say 'welcome to the class war.'

This proposal, I thought at first, would be for the good of everybody? Why shouldn't you vote for it?
However, upon reading the thread about it, before the election, I realized this could be economically disastourous. I am a somewhat lesser nation, so I believe this will not be as destructive as it could be in other places. So, I am basically repeating what someone stated in aforementioned thread, so you can be a happier person.

First, it does not have to be in effect untill one year after it has passed. Take the full year.

Second, the changes must be made by the end of a four-year period. Take the four year period.

Third, after five years have passed, declare your country in a state of emergency, since it is potentially destructive, and it will not be implemented.

I apologize for having a very short memory, or I would give credit where credit was due for this idea. I do believe it should be selective, however, since that is not an option, I have just presented one.

*Shrug* We ever-crafty Greenskinz got around this rule by redefining "hour" to "whoever long da boss says yooz work!" While this has lead to some confusion (and a few cases of a boss leaving his workers accidently locked in overnight), we think its worked pretty well.

Why don't people ever read the rules?

YOU CAN'T REPEAL RESOLUTIONS!!!!

I'm about to say to you what I truely believe is my belief system, or philosophy, whatever you want to call it, it's all in three simple little words:

"deal with it"

seriously, deal with it. I don't like the 40 hour work week resolution, in fact, I'm against it totally. I would love nothing more than to see that resolution go down the drain, but fact of the matter is, it won, the majority ruled, there's not really a thing we can do about it.

take a look at the UN in real life, I'm sure there are a lot of rules that a lot of countries cant stand, but they deal with it, why can't you? If you can't handle it, leave the UN

Erm...this resolution doesn't force people to stop working at 40 hours, and it forces nations to adapt their standard of living. People can still work overtime and stuff...and for those of you who absolutely hate the resolution and want to run your workers ragged, declare a state of emergency. The resolution comes with a built-in loophole.
