For future reference you should put a copy of your proposal up here. But just this once I'll do it for you.

Abolish Sweatshop Labor

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Maxihilism

As we all well know sweatshop labor has become prevalent within the more consumerist driven states. Though not all sweatshops are as terrible as some, the basic principles behind sweatshop labor are principles which UN Nations should not employ. Just as an example, in some nations sweatshop managers have been known to refuse bathroom breaks to employees causing them to have to urinate in a container they bring along with them to work and hide. In other cases they are not allowed to speak at all while on the job. Even besides the poor wages sweatshop labor is an infringement upon basic human rights and should be abolished completely.

In order to protect this resolution and UN nations working in accordance with it, UN Nations shall not be permitted to establish factories in non UN member nations

Well it doesn’t seam very clear, you spend a lot of your time telling us what a sweatshop is but not what to do about it. You fail to go into detail about what we should do about it.

Your proposals outlaw all factories but who is to say that they are sweatshops or even that every one in the UN is rich and everyone outside is poor.

I agree with BNW. Polish it up and we (Coll) could support it though.

Whoa, there. No reason to break out the sharper knives so quick-like. There are plenty of alternatives -- require all companies doing business in NSUN territories to allow labor inspections, say. There is an inherent need, also, to explain exactly what it is you're banning, or better yet, what exactly it is which you are requiring; it's far more productive to require breaks, wages, and legal unionization than it is to ban trade entirely and put so many people out of work.

As a general concept, though, I look forward to seeing a rewritten draft and think it likely that I will support it.
