A League of Nations?

Why can't there be some competitor to the United Nations?

I'd be up for a League of Nations, or an Organization of American States, or a NATO, or a Warsaw Pact, etc.

can i join? 8)

League of Nations would be the best thing to call it, NATO or warsaw pact have nothing to do with a world governing body and would make no sense to rival the UN.

Anyone can start an alliance. However for it to be a true competitor to the UN, I believe game mechanics would have to be changed. So, nope. :)

Ping !

A Friendly Informational Thing From - Le Représentant de Komokom.

You are perfectly allowed to set up such a body but it can only be
a region with the habitants of the region being members of this "body".

( Read "body" as an "Alliance," a band of players, well, banding together in one region or more in an "Alliance" a grouping in the interests of the grouped parties, to defend against region crashing, griefing, or provide better Role Play opportunities, or simply allow a region message board or linking for people of like ideas. )

This "body" shall have no effect on the U.N. itself, why, because :

In actual fact, because the U.N. is a part of this game program, what you are proposing is classed as Game Mechanics, and as the set in stone rule of Moderation And Other Powers That Be, will not happen, though you never know, there is always N.S. 2. , Further mor this is :

Because it means re-programming the game.

And while in the past certain suggested alterations were made, this is above and beyond any simple fiddling and would constitute alot of hard hours, and consequently, hard radiation from cathode ray tube monitors for those doing the programming.

While generally considered a good idea, this is an old one, and old idea, with an old conclusion.

It wil not be so.

Also, for your own safety, that is, that of your nation and its U.N. membership, since this idea is classed as Game Mechanics, do not, I say again, DO NOT put in a proposal for it to be done, as Moderators And Other Powers That Be, get a little annoyed to have to repeat themselves every 3-4 weeks and have gotten at times close to the end of their ropes. If you know what I mean.

( Sound of nation being bundled into a truck and driven away in the dead of night, never heard from again )

Ahem, something llike that. Also, remember kiddies, don't hve Multiple U.N. member nations from the same computer, in fact just don't, only have one, ONE U.N. member nation, Or You Will Be Deleted !

Thank You For Your Attention . :D

Hope that helps !

You do know that the League of Nations of the earl C20 was a miserable failure, right? It completly failed to serve its purpose, which was to stop and prevent another World War, and yt did nothing about Nazi Germany's rise (no-one else did either, so this was a real f*** up on all parts. The entire world just watched Hitler rise, and did nothing. Do you really think you should name and opposition UN after such a catastrophic failure?

:?: :?:

I would find it incredibly appropriate if the U.N. changed its name to the League of Nations.

The UN isn't a catastrophic failure. It accomplishes plenty of things, just none of them related to war or stopping war or Nazis or stopping Nazis. It's not really in our mandate.

Besides, the League of Nations failed because there were no mechanisms for enforcement. If a resolution ever passed, no one really cared because nothing happened if you didn't. The NSUN, on the other hand, has the Ministry of Compliance, which is 100% effective.

Food for thought.

The name of a rival world governing body is the least of your concerns. Such an organization requires much attention. Also to try and piss of the UN it’s just so… so…

so where do I sign up? This sounds like it's going to be a hell of a ride!!!

A message from the second ambassador of Etheliam.

Fascinating. I had been thinking earlier, without reading this thread, that there should be a League of Nations constructed to oppose the UN. Perhaps if we gather all of those who disapprove of the green oblivion under one or several representatives, we could have a significant impact on resolutions.

I would favor the idea of one large region of UN opponents, under one representative, a sort of dictatorship to oppose the dysfunctional democracy.

The Rep of Komokom is not available right now, he is building a giant ark to defend against the flood of the people ignorant of game mechanics and game programming.

First--you seem to be proposing a game mechanics issue (which I believe has already been stated).

Second--If you're not, you seem to be discussing a brilliant reinvention of the wheel. You already have the ability to form unions and associations. It's called regions and regional alliances. Use them if it is your wish. If you have problems with the policies being passed, attempt to push your own. Gather more people who agree with you and form a voting bloc.

its a cool idea. but to actually oppose UN would change mechanics. we could however, swarm vote the un as a group. good luck.

As for mr. komokom, let people do what they want and quit tatlin to moderators and get out of your ark and face the world
