"Dismissal" resolution controversy

The Dismissal of UN Violators resolution was in no way a game mecahanics chaging resolution, I noted that in the earlier post. I'm not trying to get anyone kicked out of the game's UN. I just believe that this resolution is the sort of measure we ought to take against nations like that.

Forgive me for failing to see the causality, but how is proposing to kick particular people out of the NSUN not an attempt to get people kicked out of the NSUN? Maybe I missed something. Regardless of whether or not such nations and their policies should be welcome in the NSUN, the situation appears to me as a clear game mechanics issue.

Any proposal mandating the ejection of nations from the United Nations imposes additional duties upon the Game Moderators and thereby constitutes Game Mechanics.

The proposal is a political statement, it is not an attempt to kick anyone out of the NSUN. It is something that i feel should be done in reality.

Since my resolution has been grossly misinterpreted, I have submitted another resolution, that would recognize any resolutions that are interpreted as political statements with no actual power to change NS.

Excuse me, I made a typo, what I meant to say was that my new resolution, would treat all resolutions interpreted as changing the game mechanics, as mere political statements, that would have no power in affecting the game mechanics.

Hmm. Well-meaning, but probably not a great idea. Thing is, a lot of nations don't read the existing resolutions properly anyway, so there's already a huge number of complaints like "Why isn't the Proper Grammer resolution being enforced"? If we open the door to game-mechanics proposals being passed, that'll just confuse nations who don't understand why they're not being enforced...

As much as I would love to have someone hand a flaming sword to the moderating staff and set them loose upon anyone who spells a word wrong or leaves a modifier dangling in their resolution, I have to agree with everyone else. The system might not work as well as we want it to, but its better than no system at all.
