Listen up all you communist or non-democratic delegates and members. I just did the thing all of you guys want and have been going after for years. It took major balls to do it. I have listed a new U.N. proposal. It is called "No Democracy" I need all of your approvals to get this passed and law. If we work together on this one, we can rid the world of all democracy! I need your proposals so approve it and make it law.

Not even going to bother with the obvious, I am finally tired in the PM for once, and I am going to a pile of bedding, but hey, I'll give you all a starter,

No Democracy

A resolution to restrict political freedoms in the interest of law and order.

Description: Has anyone noticed how much wasted time and money is pent on democracy? Hundreds of millions of dollars go to waste each election. All the money spent on campaigns could be easily put into social welfare. We should ban all elections and democracy. Almost nothing ever gets done in any Congress except for arguements. We should put all the money and time into things that count, not elections. A nation only needs one leader to make all decisions. All the money big corporations donate to campaigns should be used to help the poor. To help the people who need jobs. All politicians do is argue and make promises they never keep. It is time to bottle all democracy and put a lid on it forever. The world needs leaders who help the poor and take action, not a bunch of fat rich politicians arguing endlessly.

I frankly find this proposal... disgusting. No government can be for the people if it is not by the people.

The 'evils' of dictatorships aside...

This would, I believe, be a violation of game mechanics.

No you can't. Even if it passes, I'll still be democratic.

Some of our tribes are communist, others are democratic, we have great variety.

To preserve variety, we oppose the proposal.

Our communism, like many other nations', is based firmly on democracy. We fail to see why you think they're mutually exclusive.

Arguments Against :

1) Violates Game Mechanics, in so much as its a pre-stated thing that no political system can be removed or restricted in the game, as per the fact that political systems are a hard-wired factor of the game.

And asking constantly for it to be done will make [violet] dispatch her flying minions, ( cough, hack, gurgle ) , I mean Moderators, to rightly stomp you. :)

2) Appears to have based its arguments and information rather quite on the REAL LIFE American political system, does not take into account this game does not give a flying fluff as to America, or its politics. Bless, double bless ... Oh, yeah, constitutes a blatant REAL LIFE proposal, me-thinks, ergo violates anoher rule.

3) Promotes a dictatorial system of governmnet, one man at the wheel kinda thing, once again, violates game mechanics by proposing this as a replacement.

4) Its ridiculous. ( See above :wink: )

Since all the logical arguments have been taken, the delegation from Sophista has prepared the following list of left-over responses.

Ahem.

- Naerdland was seen accepting funds from known Democracy-supporting groups before major campaigns.

- Naerdland produces nine-tenths of this sessions (read: todays) ignorant bullshit proposals, thus clogging our forums.

- Naerdland failed to appear at a rally for burn victims. Clearly, this means he hates burn victims.

- Naerdland smells. A lot.
