Proposal: Acceptance of Homosexual Marriages in the context of the Civil Courts and/or Nation government.

1. Freedom of Choice for those in this act.

2. We shall not force any religious groups to marry them in their temples, Churches or mosques. The Church and all other religious bodies are self governed and shall not be forced to do anything that they consider immoral and unethical.

3. Those within the Religious groups who codemn this Proposal have the right to do so, under the Universal Freedom of Choice Act. Those who accept this Proposal or if this proposal has been already done. Let it be known to me.

A resolution has already been passed for this. In fact, two - Sexual Freedom and Gay Rights.

Considering my assistant has been recalled, I'll have to answer this.

Your proposal would repeal previous proposals. This is impossible.

Ditto with above although the UN needs new issues these have been done time and time again.

I agree that homosexual marriage has been treated, and the Resolution on Sexual Freedom granted a certain privacy in one's close personal relationships, but the Commonwealth of Pablovorsk believes that the aforementioned resolution did not go far enough, and in some cases was mistaken in its approach. The Commonwealth has tabled a draft proposal for the Resolution on the Extension of Sexual Freedom in a previous thread, and directs interested parties to that forum (titled: Sexual Freedom Resolution (Update))

There are still some issues there, and the issue of how the rights of gay marriage/similar unions interact with private associations has been discussed to a degree there. I would be interested to hear further thoughts.

The way things stand now, gay marriage is permitted but no one is "forced" to marry a gay couple.
What do you want to change?

To the delegation from Alphared it is rather foulish of other delegates to write proposals before:
1. Throughly reading and understanding the rules and procedures of this body.
2. Throughly reading and understanding the Resolutions already passed and on the 'books'.
3. Understanding the 'international' intent of this body.
