It is proposed, that, the United Nations, place a ban on human cloning.
The reasons for such a ban, are as follows:
1. Human cloning takes away the sanctity of life.
If human cloning is allowed, then when it is more fully developed, it may come to the point at which human beings, are “grown” on laboratory farms; the purpose of this being to create a large work force or army for use later on, or to harvest their organs for the benefit of non-cloned human beings. Human being simply become vegetables, to be grown, harvested, and then tossed aside when used up.
2. Resulting prejudice against human clones. If human cloning is allowed, it is very
If human cloning is allowed, it is very likely that when there are many clones
on the earth, non-clones will harbor great prejudice against clones. The world
does not need any more prejudices.
3. National security of the world.
Although it is highly unlikely, it is possible that various groups, might attempt to clone a nation’s leader, and using growth-acceleration technology, make the clone as old as that particular leader, and then replace him.
4. Disruption to the gene pool.
It has been found with cloned animals, that the clone is usually much weaker than the its genetic parent. If human cloning was allowed, then various genetic aberrations, and mutations, would be introduced into the human gene pool. This could be exceedingly catastrophic, especially seeing as someone might make the attempt, to introduce deadly genetic diseases into the genome.
This proposal would not ban:
1. The cloning of individual human organs.
2. The cloning of animals, and plants.
3. Gene therapy.
4. Anti-genetic disease supplements.
Please vote for this proposal. It is of significant consequence to the human race. And if you have any suggestion, I am open.
