To all Delegates:
The Personal Rights Act, my most recent proposal, is currently on page 2 of the proposal list. I fear that I will not recieve the required number of approvals before the expiration date is reached.
Please, I'm begging you, even if you do not support my proposal, tell me what I can do to improve my next one.
For those who do not have the time or inclination to check, here is the text of my proposal:
"In recognition of the fact that, despite the best heroic efforts of many nations and the benevolent moderators, there still exsist nations which refuse basic sufferage based upon factors beyond their control, the following is hereby suggested to the body of the United Nations:
1. All nations within the UN must hold open elections for public office at least three times per decade.
2. No person over a nation's age of majority who legally residing within that nation may be denied sufferage for any reason other than serious mental deficiency. When eligibility is in question, an impartial third party, chosen by the United Nations General Assembly or a sub-committee thereof, shall have final say.
3. In the event that a nation's compliance with this resolution is in question, the UN General Assembly shall have the right to monitor a nation's voting process, as well as the process of counting the votes, in order to ensure that all votes are counted fairly.
4. Continued non-compliance, on the part of any nation, shall be dealt with in a case-by-case basis by the UN General Assembly or a sub-committee thereof."
The category is The Furtherment of Democracy, and the strength is Strong.
I appreciate any tips you might have, or suppor you might give my proposal.
