HA!!! gotcha!

well while you are here you might as well hear what a load of crap the most recent proposal the UN is preparing to pass (since I have never heard of much less seen a proposal fail in the vote).

Ok first of all the writer of this proposal brings up the point that blood is only good for a few days then proposes that the time it takes to get the blood from donor to recipient be hampered by a new middleman in the form of the UN... completely absurd

Th writer also brings up the idea that UN management would improve organizations within blood donor groups yet we have seen in the past how lacking in regulation the UN itself is.... again completely absurd

Finally the writer make no provision for subsequent participants in the blood donor system to be required to give as much as they take.... for the third time---ABSURD!!!

Yet this proposal will still pass due to historical tendencies.....

I DARE you to prove me wrong... :x

If this resolution passes and in light of past resolutions that have passed,I would like to recomend that one of my collegues propose a resolution to change the required vote.

I would do so myself but I would not want to mess this one up since I have no experience in actually writing a resolution and I believe that since I only have one endorsement I could not propose a resolution anyway.

Mikitivity if at all possible I would be honored if you were the one to propose this resolution. I believe that your arguments tend to carry weight with the other delegates :D

The Republic of Cuiusquemodi shall support any resolution that would, for example, require that all United Nations resolutions pass with a super majority.

Moreover blood moving around the world would be likely to spoil waiting for the bureaucracy!

The Republic of Cuiusquemodi had been considering voting in the affirmative on this resolution until reading this comment. The Republic of Cuiusquemodi considers this a laudable effort, but simply cannot, in good conscience, vote in favor of a resolution that may lead to the waste of thousands of units of blood.

Man I hate politics. WAR! that's what we need. A big bloody mess all around the world. Who's with me? We will dominate all the others, and then fight amongst ourselves for supreme power!

Golgatha

As I see it, here is the problem with the current resolution...

As a country, each of our nations have made choices regarding blood and organ donations for our citizens. In the Armed Republic of Golgatha, these things are manditory. Persons or their descendants are compensated for their "donations."

Now a nation who was afraid to make that tough decision will be able to litterally suck the life's blood of my people. I find the very idea that such a resolution is at vote appalling. The fact that it will probably pass because it "for the good of mankind" and because most people won't actually contemplate the implications of this proposal prior to voting on it, is equally disturbing.
