For All U.N. Delegates, A Proposal

I am proud to serve as a delegate to the United Nations, but the longer I have been delegate, the more irrelevant, silly, misspelled, and stupid proposals I've been forced to wade through. Right now there are 16 pages of proposals, one of which has credibility (in my opinion), and worth my time to read.

I think I'd like to make a proposal (heh) to cut the amount of time a proposal has to reach quorum to three days. This would, at minimum, eliminate the silly proposals faster, but also allow proposals that have credibility more exposure. It would also require us to keep to our duties as delegates to keep up on what's on the board.

What do you think, fellow delegates?

I'd rather see that all proposals be approved by the mods first, before even reaching the stage that they can be voted on to become resolutions. All improperly formatted proposals be immediately stricken from consideration.

well, due to language barriers, I really don't mind the misspellings and grammatical mistakes. They happen, but to lessen the time for quoram won't work. There are alot of proposals out there and I for one don't have the time to read each one to give them all careful consideration. Shorting them won't give the worthy ones time to get the support they need.

perhaps a spellchecker is required for proposals.

I thought it was already at three. Each time I've submitted Habeas Corpus, I've done it on a Saturday, and only given until Monday.

Its a good idea, but then again we have the problem of the good proposals getting a minimised amount of attention.

Not all players are on every day. With three days as a limit, some would miss proposals entirely.

It is better to have to wade through some chaff than to inadvertently discard a gem.

In an ideal world we would pay the mods handsomely and they would prescreen all proposals. In this world, they are already overworked and unpaid.

First, don't make a game mechanics proposal. Just ask the mods directly.

Second, I noticed one nation submitted at least three proposals (all of them garbage) yesterday. Might have been more than that. Anyway, I would think the mods should just have a limit on how many proposals a nation submits per so many days ... via a running average. If the number of proposals submitted is more than 2 per 10 days, then they should get a warning.

My reasoning is, there are more than enough proposals and nations to allow everybody to get time to debate their issues. If a proposal fails and is being resubmitted, maybe it should be discussed before just dropping it back in again. Since most of the proposals are all about violating sovereignty and not about responding to any crisis, there is no pressing rush.

Just some thoughts ...
