The United Nations Referendum
Composed by:
The Independent States of Bytek

Today, April 2, 2004, in order to further the inherent rights of every Nation pertaining to the United Nations; when such Nations find Their actions to be unwarranted; and to guarantee that such rights be empowered to them, the Independent States of Bytek do hereby propose the immediate ratification of a ‘United Nations Referendum’. This resolution will see to it that our ‘inherent right’ of challenging any Authoritarian decree; to continue to improve the Rights of Nations of the world; and to return the Power back to the Peoples of the world:

Primary Articles

Article I. A resolution is unfair or unjust when it attempts to take away the power invested by the People of the Nations of the world; it attempts to interfere with the Peoples beliefs and Government ideologies of the Nations of the world; or it attempts to overstep the boundaries that were originally granted to it by the Nations of the world.

Article II. When one or more Nations find a resolution to be unfair or unjust to their or any Nation belonging to the United Nations, it is their ‘inherent right’ to challenge the Authoritarian decree.

Secondary Articles

Article I. In order to successfully challenge an Authoritarian decree, many Nations must, through ‘popular support’, apply a petition showing an overwhelming 2/3 majority of the entire members of the United Nations. This petition must be numbered and show all the names of supporting Nations; the supporting Nations must declare their support by writing a brief message of approval of such action being taken; and each Nation must have a secondary endorsement from one or more Nations from within their region approving of such action being taken.

Article II. Once such a majority has been shown, the United Nations and all it’s members; through the passing of this resolution, will immediately remove the Authoritarian decree that has been successfully challenged.

It is the everlasting hope of the Independent States of Bytek that we, the Nations of the world, continue a path of benevolence and maintain our mission to improve the quality and freedoms of the world.

Signed,
Independent States of Bytek

This is repeal of resolutions by another name - which, no matter how much it seems like a good idea or how many nations support it, simply can't be done. Sorry.

there are three broad categories of proposal which will always be removed from the queue before they become able to be voted on by the general membership of the United Nations. These three categories are:
...
2. Game Mechanics Proposal
...proposals to repeal other resolutions are Game Mechanics Changes. This is because you are effectively asking for the statistics of your nation to be re-set to what they were before the proposal was passed - given that statistics are a part of the Game Mechanics, that's what you want changed. Also, proposals about the UN not being allowed to infringe on "national sovereignty" are Game Mechanics things as well - clearly the UN can infringe on whatever it wants because the option to make such proposals exists.

We should also politely warn Bytek that nations which submit proposals to repeal UN resolutions are immediately ejected from the UN by the moderators without appeal.

Your arguments are hardly new. They appear - without fail - in the forums roughly every 2 months. While coherent and cogent, they amount (in game terms) to an attempt to change laws of nature. Thus, they will fail.
