Just wars

I suggest that someone makes a proposal about just wars.

War is covered in ‘rights and duties’.

The I.G.N.O.R.E cannon decides if it is just.

Desdemona, as always you've made a perfect summation,

And might I add for further clarification to all, the "wars" in N.S. are a role-playing matter and any kind of decision making ability they have is purely laissez faire, and judged by the engaging parties as such. The U.N. has nothing at all to do with it. Plus, yeah, its enshrined in the rules, and at the end of the day,

The I.G.N.O.R.E. cannon stand'eth supreme,

(Might I add, to my remembering, I've never needed to fire my incredible I.G.N.O.R.E. defence system, for I've never been "threatened" with R.P. war, and in the one case I went to fire it over offensive telegrams, the slippery devil cowardly blocked telegrams from me. Where did Nimbus-Sun go? )

- The Rep of Komokom.

I would say this is "just" a waste of time and an excuse to bump up post counters...

Greetings:

The idea of a just war resolution has our highest support. Unfortunately, I doubt there could ever be one that could pass muster. Gettings the various nations to agree on some limits (without facing the dueling accusations of "don't limit my state" and "don't force your morality on me"). [OOC - The main reason it would not even get that far would be game mechanics. If two or more UN nations got into an RP war, theoretically this resolution, by specifically stating what could or could not be done, might be seen as requiring a reworking of the system. On the other hand, the "no children soldiers" resolution techinically limits wars as well, but I guess in not such an obvious way]

While the RCO fully supports the idea of a just war resolution for UN members, it may be some time before it can be a reality.

With Respect,
Minister of Foreign Affairs Voegelin, Royal Commonwealth of Oakeshottland.
