Last Chance: Fight against the Werewolf

04-03-2004, 19:00
The voting ends tomorrow.
Eleven votes have yet been collected 137 are still to come.

The proposal is as follows: We will pull the moon out of the earth's system by using satelites already present. This will result in the disappearing of werewolves all around the world because a full moon will not come into being. The disappearing of tides will save the seaturtles.

and deal with this problem, so much to gain nothing to lose

Geeez. Yes, 137 delegates are going to magically appear and help get it to quorum in what? Under 24 hours? Yes, right, What-ever...

I think that before "counting on us" you should try it with your fingers and toes.

Has anyone told you to "puff puff, pass along" when you thought this pro'p up?

There are so many things wrong with this proposal. I have to say that I think you would be hard pressed to find more than a very select few individuals that would support this most strange of proposals. Yet as a member of the UN, each member does have the right to propose what they think is best, however stupid it may appear to other nations.

Hakartopia will not fight werewolves, because in my opinion werewolves are cute and fluffy.

Palinu cannot support this proposal, as it would impact our silver mining industry.

Werewolves are a necessary evil. Without the moon, the Earth would spin randomly, would lose its rotational axis, and that would be a really serious threat to all life. I sugest the delegates to vote No.
07-03-2004, 18:09
The Earth's rotation would not be random without the moon, only different.

Gravity doesn't magically go up and down when the moon's not around - it's stil the same m/d^2 relationship its always been.

Without the moon, the Earth would have a much tighter spin. The moon essentially destabilizes the Earth's rotation by pulling in different directions at different times as it goes around the Earth.

No moon means smaller tides and less variance in the length of the day. So regardless of what you think of werewolves, it's still inappropriate to spread misinformation about what this project would entail.

Don't make me come over there.

The Dictatorship of Darkana strongly disagrees with this propasal and hopes that it doesent even come close to being passed. Mostly because we like this planet and would rather not see it become totally submerged with water because of of the lack of tides to regulate ocean height.

Ambassador Bogeyfeather, a penguin in a cape, top hat and monical, steps in, looks at the gathered nation and the topic they're debating. He laughs histerically for a few moments, then gathers himself and moonwalks out the door.

we urge the delegate for Kirbanjali to consider telling his/her government to get some common sense.

Moreover, we are prepared to send a team of experts to Kirbanjali to prove that werewolves are similar to vampires, faeries etc by explaining they are not real.

Tell that to the were-penguin, Ambassador Bogeyfeather.

Och, an' the werehaggis is a fearsome thing!
08-03-2004, 17:26
We in Korrendal, protest most strongly about this proposal. A terrible waste of resources to solve a non-existent problem. What a ridiculous idea? Werewolves roaming the planet. Whoever heard of such a thing?

(Delegate moves the long red hairs on his hands to check his watch, before looking up at the night sky, to see the clouds parting...)
