Mandatory Nametags

Newmanity

The Theocracy of Newmanity has appealed to the world that all citizens wear nametags for the sake of moral decency. Go check out the proposal and let's have some discussion.

And I'll be the first to say that, yes, I got the idea from Seinfeld.
Colony States

The Republic of Colony States is adamantly against the mandatory used of nametags or any other such ID devices. We feel that any such devices give government too much power over the people, and our people would certainly see this as a violation of their civil rights. We object to this proposalon the basis of it being a violation of the right to privacy.

while the people of Septiloptigus do see how having some identification is useful and helpful in certain situations we don't think that a name tag is needed. its simply to public and can be considered a slight violation of privacy, as colony states has said. i dont really see how this would help moral decency directly, though i suppose it could allow for meeting people to be easier.

Here in Bahgum we do not support compulsory ID, though many of our population voluntarily wear the name (and address) tags which are available on the door at all good Bahgumian pubs. Our cart-horse taxi drivers find these to be very useful at pub closing time. However such temporary, sensible methods are far below the lengths which this proposal is after.

USSR votes against this proposal

It will provoke peoples rights, on every people knowing who they are, even if passing through the street, the guy next to you will know who you are and you will know who they are. Some things must be kept secret

The Most Serene Republic of Sidar Jabari is firmly against mandatory nametags. We consider it as a violation of people's desire for privacy. Nobody should be forced to have a nametag !

Nevertheless, our people is considering the creation of files with ID of criminals (photos, fingerprints and DNA) for the police to better ensure public safety and peace. But these files would be used provided the police and the magistrates work together, and only them could be able to read these files, in accurate cases. Our people is indeed attached to the respect of its privacy and its peace.

Uniformity is part of the One-Worlder mantra... their vision of the future means that 99.999% of the population is just mindless drones.

The average income tax rate is 100%.

One-Worlder's do not care, who's money is stolen and spent in realizing their hive-like existence.

Joccia also feels that this is a ridiculous proposal. Name tags can be lost or deliberately removed, giving the police and other government agencies extra trouble in the identification of subversives and other criminal elements.

In Joccia, all persons of 'dubious background' have their Social security number branded on their forehead using state-of-the-art laser technology.
Hamptonshire

This is a foolheary proposal. The sheer logistics involved cause us to dismiss this measure. We in the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire value our right not to be forced to carry a national identification card. We are happy with genetically cataloging all Hamptonshirese at birth.
