No Firearms for Civilians

02-03-2004, 21:36
I have proposed a resolution called "No Firearms for Civilians". I strongly urge everybody to support this, as this is the only way to create a society in which people don't have to be afraid that they will get shot if they have an argument with somebody. Civilians cannot be trusted with firearms, they do not have the propor training with them and have not done any 'mental/emotional' tests that all soldiers and policemen/women must pass. Please support this resolution.......

Beyond the UN's remit.

While we do not allow firearms for our own civilians, or indeed for our military until they achieve 3rd kyu (a process that generally takes about four years of training), this would impose on national sovereignty.

We are, however, considering the submission of a proposal (once the Narcotics Act is dealt with) that would ban the private ownership of heavy-ordnance and unusually cruel firearms, such as personal artillery or flamethrowers, as we consider this to constitute an issue both of human rights and of international security.

Ping ! Not U.N. issue, this is already an N.S. regular issue, so just drop it.

* I * am now planning a resolution that means all future U.N. proposals may not conflict with N.S. issues, under the principle of precedent and such, so for example, you could not have a proposal saying get rid of fire-arms as its an option in a an N.S. issue, which would then mean I could not deal out one of the other options for my people.

Am I making sense?

Ridiculous. Brainwashed city boys shouldn't be allowed to make proposals at all. Guns don't kill, people kill. Murder existed LONG before firearms were invented. Life was not peaceful and idyllic, til suddenly the gunmakers came on the scene and screwed things up.

If you want to stop murders, then go after the murderers.

I'll just bet your nation has lenient parole laws, and the same person murders repeatedly. Get tough on the PERSON who commited a murder, not the weapon.

its easier to pull a trigger from a distance than stand beside somebody and stab them to death. The resolution is not going to magically get rid of all shootings, but it will certainly get rid of some of them since it won't be as easy to get guns, unless you are familiar with the black market

Description: Civilians cannot be trusted with guns, and they should not have access to them. Studies have proven that by banning civilians from possesing firearms, the number of murders and armed robberies can drop as much as 40%.

Thats why the only good way to to ban all civilians from owning firearms.

It also makes it alot harder to defend yourself, since the people who are going to use guns to murder are more than likely to be familiar with the black market. Not to mention how few burglaries and murders there are in homes in Switzerland where almost every house has a gun.

I would imagine that a nation of armed militiamen... put's a damper on thugs  .

I tip my hat to the Swiss Cantons.
