No Official Religion
A proposal to stop an official set religion for one country. This way people can practice whatever religion they want to practice without being harrased by most of the community.
I need endorsements so that I can propose the idea.

While we personally oppose the idea of state religion, this is beyond the UN's remit; in the case of theocracies it would amount to UN control of governmental system.
We at P.R.A.D.S agree with the diplomat from Rehochipe

Agreed. While Ariddia has a secular government and religious freedom, this is a matter for each sovereign state to decide upon, and should not be imposed.
:D The reason i say this won't happen is because of the fact that they might be harassed by people. If a person knows that a certain country is full of christians(which i am) then they know not to go their, just like i would not go to a country full of athesiest or buddist. I believe that all country's should state what most of their countries religions are.

Making it an option, but not a requirement would be nice. I would support that.

We practice religious freesom; any who wish to exercise freedom of conscience may move here. You'll be most welcome.
But if another state wishes to have state religion, let those stay there who are comforted by such bland uniformity.
Yes, we believe the control of wether or not there is a state religion is outside of UN control. It must be left up to the independent and sovereign nations to decide for themselves. Some nations wish to have a theocracy, and that must be respected.

Indeed, as I understand it there is already previous resolutions which support freedom of religon...so this proposal, while full of good intentions, appears a little irrelevant.

I personally, don't believe in religious teachings, so i feel offended whenever someone tries to 'convert' me into their religion. So I say don't make a state religion and let people have the choice whether they want to be religious or not.

If religion offends you, then you better stay out of Goryville. We have a state religion that all residents and visitors must convert to. We have revived the worship of the ruler as a living god on earth. All must bow to the great dictator.
Being offended is a choice. You have the right to be offended, but you do not have the right to say what others can and cannot say. I suspect that you are offended most of the time about one thing or another. Pitty.
See Komokoms thread on separating UN and religion. I think you'll find similar views there already :)
