asylum seekers
Are we prepared to have illegal immigrants? Are we prepared to pay a sum of the tax payers' money for ppl who do not have a place in our countries unless they came there legally? Lets discuss this one. Personally I dont want ppl in my country who dont belong there! You either get there legally or dont bother at all!!!

'Legal/illegal' under what terms? Your laws? My country's laws? UN laws? Do you expect people claiming asylum to be intimately acquainted with your legal system?
Define what you mean by 'belong'.
Explain to me how you wish to make this relevant to the UN.
Maybe then we'll 'discuss this one'.

We aren't just a tad bit intolerant, here, are we? Which people? Why don't they belong? Are they different than you? How? What if sometime in the next decade, YOU are the people who are hungry and penniless? Will it make sense to you then that you BELONG where you are now?
Get a grip.
My nation will not even CONSIDER laws that ban the world's homeless people. Send them to us. We'll find a way to exploit, errrrr, ummmm, help them.

In theory, no one really got to this country "legally." If people didn't "illegally" immigrate to different lands, we'd all still be living in Africa or where ever it is they think all humans started out. I don't think we should just open our borders to anyone, but if they manage to make it into the country without being caught, let them stay. Cause they will be the ones that work hard, eventually apply for citizenship, and be good contributing members of society.
Are we prepared to have illegal immigrants?
We having a saying here in Albion: 'if capital can move wherever it wishes, so can labour'. Which you may take to mean, we have completely open boarders. The rest of your statement was irrelevent.

I hope you know what they do to brooms in the Berkshire gulags, broom.
Well, the proud Rogue Nation of Nucleasia also has a saying about this:
'A immigrant-kill a day keeps asylum-seekers away.'
This means that Nucleasia's borders are closed. In fact, we prefer giving 'asylum' to known criminals and terrorists who have shown a great anti-immigration mind, in the hope that they may add to our Great Country, especially in the way of weapons and 'entertainment' (Like the popular TV-show 'Immigrant Man-Hunt'.). We will go against immigration.
Sincerely,

(OOC: Please note that this is a game. This post doesn't reflect my personal meanings. In RL, I'm all for immigration.)

You don't. I might.
Seems this is a Non-Issue with the UN, at any rate. No matter how open SOME nation's borders may be, while OTHERS are less so, it simply isn't something that can be decided with the sweep of a pen.
There may indeed be instances where my nation will NOT want a group of people immigrating, or perhaps, limit them to a manageable quota. I won't want the UN telling me that I must take in any and all such undesirables that show up on my border. Nor will my nation tolerate ANY other entity dictating that I may NOT offer asylum to any group.
The UN might wish to promote asylum, in that it is generally a humanitarian gesture. The UN might even wish to reward nations offering asylum, in some way. The UN may not mandate asylum. The UN MAY offer protection to asylum seekers, making it illegal to hunt them down and harm them. This would also be a noble humanitarian gesture.
