Today is the last day to achieve the 6% quorum on the proposal to limit CEO salaries!!! :!: this is a very important issue, both in the real world and in NationStates. I encourage all UN members to support this proposal. Let's make it into a resolution!! :!:

"Screw You Commie"
We were planning on ignoring this topic, as it obviously won't be reaching quorum. The Conglomerated Oligarcy of Frisbeeterian Corporate States needs no more reason than their official and fully-qualified name to stand in opposition to this proposal.

We invite the representative from Armorfiend to pay closer attention to the diplomatic niceties of the UN, even when the proposal goes entirely opposite to their philosophies. Rational discussion and polite disagreement will tend to be far more compelling than slander and insult, no matter the provocation.

If you don't like CEOs to make money, tax them. That's what government does best, collect money and distribute it, don't more away from your core competency.

I think it's wrong that CEOs make so much for themselves yet their employees get a fractional slice of the profit. CEOs should still be able to make millions, but they should be limited by what they give to their lowest paid employees.

Example, John the CEO is limited by Mike the lowely employee's salary.
Mike makes 20,000 per year, John is limited to 1,000 times what Mike makes, or about 20,000,000.

Numbers are approximate (im no economist) but that cant be called communism

Compensation for labor is a concern of the employee and employer--not government.

You could just abolish capitalism, then CEOs and salaries in general would cease to be a problem.

Its entirely possible that the nation of Sophista has accidentally agreed with the ubiquitous anti-government rants of Ithuania. Granted, not for the same reasons, but hey, a miracle is a miracle. While the jury is still out on the idea of just who gets to decide what compensation is fair, the nation of Sophista believes that the UN is definitely not that person.

Why should we set limits? Hello, let's move to the future.
