Seeing no mod ever steps foot in here my idea will probably go unheard but here goes anyway....

Currently the UN is in a dreadful state. Below is a list of all the resolutions I believe should not be allowed in the UN. I believe they should not be in the UN because they are forcing your rules on other people. The UN should be out to hekp the world, not just impose laws that nations disagree with. Anyway, the list:
Ban Single-Hulled Tankers
MANDATORY RECYCLING
Protect Historical Sites
Required Basic Healthcare
Hydrogen Powered Vehicles
Outlaw Pedophilia
Replanting Trees
Metric System
Free education
International Space Initiative
Oceanic Waste Dumping
Stop dumping - Start Cleaning
World Heritage List
Banning the use of Landmines
Freedom From SPAM Act
Legalise Euthanasia
Legalize prostitution

So there the list, all these do very little but just change laws in countries so ones personal beliefs can be shown. But the UN should be out to help humanity eg/feeding the hungry, aiming for world peace and the likes. Anyway, carry on with your lives now.

Every one of these has a legimate international component. The fact that you don't agree with them isn't the point. I'll agree that a lot of what comes from the UN is useless drivel, but there is some good too.

As for the rest of your diatribe ... well, you're entitled to your opinon. I've been posting in here for pretty much every day of the last 2 months, and don't recall seeing you post here before. Nothing you have said is new, it's all been discussed at length, and in EVERY case it's been dismissed as being against Game Mechanics to attempt to eliminate old, passed resolutions.

Since it doesn't appear that you have actually posted this as a resolution, I'm going to assume you are simply expressing your dissatisfaction. OK. We heard you. Anyway, carry on with your life now.

All these laws do is cover universal issues. The clearist example of this is the first. You cannot regulate something like single hull tankers country by country. It's an international issue.

While we respect your opinion to believe that some of those proposals have no place in the UN, these three issues can easily cross multiple boundaries.

Simply putt, your right to dump oil in the ocean ends where my ocean begins. And as the not so simply physics of our planet would have it, your water is my water, and my water is your water. In other words, just because you have an accident outside of my terrorial waters, does not mean that the people of Mikitivity are not negatively impacted by your nations poor planning.

In fact, we'd argue that any issue related to: water, air, or space is very international in nature. I'm not even limited my short list to large salt water boundaries. Rivers that pass through multiple nations are very critical for both commerce and water supply.

One of the principle missions behind the NationStates UN is to promote cooperation. And added benefit is to prevent nations going to war.

As an upstream watershed nation to several neighboring states, how we treat our precious fresh water and snow pack is naturally important to our neighbors. Surely you'll have to admit that if the Confederation of Mikitivity was to SPOIL the waters on the Endor River that our downstream neighbors might consider this a hostile act. It could even provoke a war.

No, no. It is my governments opinion that we can't change the UN to address only a few select topics (especially some of the ones you listed), but that we can achieve your goal of improving the quality of UN resolutions by encouraging a resubmittal of the Frisbeetian Rights and Duties proposal and then other benchmark resolutions to spell out in general terms what the NationStates UN's mission really is.

Actually, the reality is these are probably (Those resolutions past that were citied in the initial post) those resolutions that were the most sensible, I mean, hello, the R.L.U.N. in involved in pro environmental work, so why not the N.S.U.N. ? This is basically a simulation of the R.L. like same. And these proposals captured the hearts of boh the auto yes voters and the more significant (If only metaphorically then numericaly) deep thinkers, as well as there minds, okay we may not all agree on all of them being good, but that is a price of democratic freedom.

In RL all but the USA iuse it near exclsively (though there are some in the UK ,either for tradion or anti-EU nose tweaking).

I'd like it instead if all UN Resolution passed before my joining were also automatically law in my NationState,Heian-Edo.
