As many of you know an issue was recently passes to legalize prostitution. When I saw that this proposal was even exepted as a UN issue it made me sick. It made me even more sick when it passed. This is just a subtle way for perverts everywhere to get thier foothold on the government. Just recently another proposal was submitted to Illegalize Prostitution. I am not a UN delegate and unable to add my support to this but I hope that every delegate out there is not a perverted freak and support this proposal and vote for it. The legalization of prostitution only shows that the government is becoming more and more corrupted with each passing day. I do not want to be a part of this downslide in the UN and I hope you will join me in supporting this and stop the corruption of it right now. If we are to be governed by perverts than I do not want to be a part of it and I will resign! The current proposal only has today to gain enough support. If it fails I hope that someone else will subnmit it again. Please I hope you agree with my views and will help with the Illegalization of prostitution!

I'm sick and tired of this.

Those who supported the resolution to legalize prostitution did so because it's a matter of individual rights. I guarantee you that it wasn't a hormone kick, and you're a phucktard if you think otherwise.

what do you care if you're not a member of the UN?? maybe you should join up and then you'll have a right to debate these issues!

Alright Ithuania it is just a hormone kick and u saying phucktard just goes to prove the point. What are u 11 12 maybe 13 i know in my school we don't say retarded and immature things like that.

Anyway support this proposal as it leads to sensiblility AND if we all had 100% freedome we'd all be dead and the human race fail also prostitution does spread std's that mean aids as well as hiv. 2 out of 3 prostitutes has it and would you want it? the only reason we know this caus its illegal and this is part of their inforcment campaign

The whole point is just vote for the proposal and bring honor back to the U.N.

Prostitutes are victims of capitalism. You should abolish the source of the problem rather than penalize the victims.

Aelov: Your ignorance is astounding. Why is it so difficult for you and your ilk to get it through your pointy little heads that this is an issue of individual rights?

I can understand that you are opposed to prostitution and are upset at the fact that the UN made it legal. But as much as I hate to burst your bubble, there is no way that it will be illegalized unless everyone who joins the UN is against it and a s***load of current UN members who support prostitution get the boot. The probability of this is slim to say the least. Secondly, the fact that you are complaining about an issue you didn't even bother to get involved in is... I can't quite find an appropriate word for it. Let's just say that you aren't making much sense. Third, you are trying to press your opinion on nations who, by comparison to your nation, have a lot more sense when it comes to this sort of thing. The chance they will listen to you is about the same as the odds of success of the 'Illegalize Prostitution' bit.

:?: In a world where one doesn't have food to eat and a place to sleep, and one's body is all one has AS A SALEABLE COMMODITY, it is certain that one person is not considering capitalism or individual rights. One is considering where one will sleep, what one will eat, and if one's children are provided for.

There are prostitutes in every country in the world, whether that country is a "capitalist" place, or not. So long as there are no other options to survive, and so long as women's bodies are viewed as chattel, this shall continue.

In the real-world state of Nevada, prostitution is legalized and licensed. This doesn't make it good, but one must consider it carefully before making it one's profession, and there are more protections.

From the conversing I have seen thus far -- and this is my 2nd nation, so I am not a newbie -- all points of view are 'ignorant,' as in unschooled and in need of lessoning.

How can you speak for thousands of other nations? In a democracy how can one possibily seperate the prohibitions of the law from the conscience of the governed?

Maybe some of them voted because it was a hormone kick. But the fact of the matter is, hormone kick or not, it IS a matter of individual rights.

Hormone kick or not, its not that bad of a proposal. It's a lot easier to montor and restrict something then it is to ban it completly...especially if it's already there. And besides, its not like anyone is being forced into prostitution, mind as well make the best of it and monitor and tax it.

And besides, its not like anyone is being forced into prostitution,...

*cough*

Certainly there are women and children of either sex being "forced" into prostitution.

One benefit of legalization allows those who have become prostitutes, by whatever means, the protection of law rather than constantly being prosecuted (and persecuted) by the law.

Also, people can't be blackmailed by prostitutes anymore, depending on the laws of the state in question.
