Sanctity of Marriage
---Post deleted by NationStates Moderators---
No moral nation can support this.

The statement that marriage can only exist between a man and a woman is blatantly discrimantory and a violation of human rights. Rabenswald cannot support this, and will resign from the U.N. should it be passed into law.

Repeat, no moral nation can support a law allowing only man-woman couples to marry.

No one's making you engage in a homosexual marriage. What gives you the right to deny others the freedom to do something just because you don't like it?

This proposal disgusts me. Are we so primitive that we can't be tolerant of others, and, despite our own beliefs on the matter, know that ALL people must be given equal rights? Whether or not you think gay marriage is moral, you must acknowledge that homosexuals have the right to marry those they love. Period. Being a strong supporter of homosexual rights especially in my own nation, I must also swear that I shall resign from the UN should this proposal be passed.

If the representative from Cottonisking does not approve of homosexual marraige, the nation of Sophista suggests he keep that rhetoric to himself. We will certainly oppose any attempts to legislate discrimination or to breach so egregiously the secular nature of the United Nations.

The world is not Christian, Cottonisking. Lubria discriminates against no one, no matter how much they discriminate against others. Not all Christians oppose the evolution of their faith, recognizing that in 2,000 years, things change. your bible was written by men of 2,000 years ago. Your Jesus never mentions homosexuals, once. He mentions rich men many a time, saying they have less chance of getting into heaven, than a camel through the eye of a needle, so the phrase goes, I believe. Many Christians take this to mean that your Jesus did not discriminate against homosexuals. This coupled with his revoking of the Jewish Levitican code, whose condemnation of homosexuality is mentioned in the same breath as the forbidding of wearing clothes of mixed fabric, planting two crops side by side, or touching the skin of a pig. Lubria wonders, why do Christians hang on to the one Levitican rule declaring homosexuality an unclean act, yet ignore every other rule.
Your god is not the world’s god, Cottonisking. Your beliefs are not the world’s beliefs. And they are just beliefs, for you have offered no proof of your statement.
We could never support this proposal. Love cannot be limited to opposite sex marriage. Pstchedellia will always support homosexuality and hetrosexuality
Equallity means EQUAL!!!!!! Not second best or third. I know more gay couples that have been together 15 or more years than I do ANY straight people. I say I want tax credit for my partner and myself. I want to know that when I die he inherits what is rightfully his and not have to go through some lenghty, costly, court bullshit to get it. ANYONE that does not believe in Equal Rights is an ignorant, evil, biggitted, ASSHOLE who does not deserve the right to call themselves human.
