No purpose/sense/law- Save the forests of the World

05-02-2004, 07:10
Um has anyone noticed that this proposal does not do anything. The person forget to mention what he was going to do with the lumber industry. Ban it? Cut it down by what percent? There is no mention of any law what so ever. They also spelled wood as would. "While decreasing the would chipping industry would..." Whoever wrote this is clearly some emotional wacko. I love forests and I believe nature should be preserved call it the German in me. However this prop DOES NOTHING WHATSOEVER. Please actually read the petitions you vote for. I bet I could write a proposal that says "YAY TREES BOO FACTORIES" and have in the middle of a paragraph "mickey mouse for president" and hardly anyone would notice.

Illaria stands with the United Catholics on this issue.

The proposal's actual proposal is this: Solution
While decreasing the would chipping industry would, in the short term, over hundreds of years the over all efects on the enviroment would realy save the world from the rampart destruction of forest that it has fallen into a cycle of.

Besides not being a grammatical sentence and being more wrought with horrible spelling than a 2nd grader's writing, this proposal says NOTHING. While the idea is nice, the proposal is wildly flawed.

Illaria wholeheartedly opposes the passing of this bill on the grounds that it is, fully and entirely, stupid.

After consulting with the head of the Commission on Foreign Relations, the nation of Renistan would like to assert its agreement with the represenative from the United Catholics. To be honest, our analysts are shocked and awed that this unprofeesional proposal received sufficient endorsements. While our standing policy is to support virtually any resolution that supports our environment, we simply cannot support one that is so vague and poorly constructed as this one.

Despite this, the underlying concept seems to be a good one. If the decryption specialists from the Special Committee on UN Proposal Comprehension are correct, essentially this proposal suggests that somehow (the means are not specified) we decrease the rate of deforestation by decreasing the amount of logging that occurs in rain forests. This goal, if accompanied by a better proposal is exactly in line with Renistan's current international environmental policy.

Thus we call upon our fellow UN members to reject this proposal and rapidly replace it with a new, better version.

The Community of Ecopoeia will ruefully vote against this proposal. It is poorly drafted and vague. We believe that effective environmental legislation is required but this is not it.

This must be pointed out after Feb 14 this will come to feature. I propose that all Nationstates who do indeed see the flawed nature of this proposal to telegram all states who have voted for it. Please this cannot be overlooked. This will be the doom of Democracy if you vote for this. It turns the UN into a grade school level system. Please I beg you all. It is our duty to show this is a flawed proposal.
