What's the difference between prostitution and pornography?

Prostitution is paying someone for sex.

Pornography is paying someone for sex. And video taping it to make money.

I have no idea why one is illegal and one isn't.

In many places prostitution, under controlled circumstances isnt actually illegal, and pornography such as (shudder) child porn is illegal, kinda goes both ways

Prostitution is interaction

Pornography is observation.

People will watch things in porn they would never consider doing with a prostitute.

Prostitution is paying for sex.

Pornography is like an industry where the models/actors are paid to have sex but it will be distributed...

basically, what prostitutes do with their clients is like a personal thing while what actors do in pornography is for public exhibition or viewing

and so. . .public exhibition makes having sex for money okay somehow

. . .riiiiiiiiiight. . . .

not that I see the logic in banning prostitution in the first place, but I firmly believe that laws shouldn't contradict each other

In my area, the difference between prostitution and pornography is about 25 to 30 dollars.
