Kepone resigns

30-01-2004, 08:41
Due to the arrogance and self-hatred on here towards our proposal to legalize prostitution, I announce the resignation of Kepone from the UN.

We will no longer deal with bickering children who claim to know what's best for others and are total hypocrites.

We have seen other proposals that are pure garbage, up for consideration.

We feel the UN needs stricter rules on what can and cannot be proposed. Maybe this would make the crybabies and losers happy.

Good riddance!

This from someone with 5 posts in this place and a resolution to his name. I'm going to repeat my statement in the other thread before resuming my role.

Grow up. This is a game. If you are this offended by a rampant debate over a vastly contested issue in real life where many of us are playing roles that are just a little comically obscene in the level of our stances, then you really don't need to be playing this game.

You chose a hotly contested issue. Some people have strong issues with this. I have my own opinion, whereas Ezeqeel of the Holy Empire of Kokablel has his. There are a bunch of us who are probably just here in the 'role' of our nations. Did you expect us to just vote and be done with it? Jeeze buddy, toughen your damned skin.

Good god, I mean this is supposed to be fun, right? Personally, I find being the voice of some half-crazed celestial cult-run nation to be damned amusing. Why don't you take this just a little less seriously and enjoy yourself for once? This place is no example of RL and these policies don't actually affect anyone. Debate to your heart's content, thicken your skin and get it through your dense head that this. is. just. a. game. Any claims to it being some grand experiment fall rather flat, considering the number of regions devoted to booze and babes.

The Rogue Nation of Greenspoint finds this statement hypocritical in that the nation of Kepone "... claim[s] to know what's best for others ..." by telling us we need to legalise abortion.

We have seen other proposals that are pure garbage, up for consideration.

Evidently what is one nation's pure garbage is another nation's idea for a proposal, as we find the current proposal being voted upon pure garbage.

We feel the UN needs stricter rules on what can and cannot be proposed. Maybe this would make the crybabies and losers happy.

At last, something in the post we can agree upon.

We would like to humbly submit to ALL U.N. Member states that just because you see a problem in your nation doesn't mean it's a problem everywhere, and that your own particular solution to your problem isn't necessarily the best solution for the same problem where it does exist in other nations. In some cases, what you view as a problem to fixed, another nation views as a cultural heritage to be celebrated and protected.

So you are quitting because people don't agree with you Kepone? Well welcome to the real world. Forums are a place of debate, especially the UN forum. Quitting for this reason shows immaturity, in my opinion.

Your proposal is actually winning votes and you are mad cause people are arguing against it?
Stick around and duke it out, by debating in a mature fashion. Don't be a quitter.

Once you have more than 12 of your ideas shot down, then you can whine about the inefficiancy and incompetance of the UN body. Also, you're not as old as some other nations, so, this is where you want to shut-up and stand down. Don't accuse anyone of being childish until you take a look in your own backyard.

Indeed. In terms of an internet flame war, this doesn't even count as warm compared to some of the stuff I've seen

If you must leave, of course the UN is a voluntary body and you need not stay if you do not want to. Did you read this post in one of the other threads your highly provocative proposal engendered?

This just isn't a silly proposal. It's a sick and disgusting way to promote women as objects, not real people who have to work as hard (or maybe that’s harder) than men to gain even a foothold in some societies. The sex trade is exactly what it sounds like, a trade. The bartering of the less fortunate for duties that a loved one or a spouse is to help provide. It sickens me to see people such as yourselves help ruin society. It is in a state that we shouldn't even have to think about legalizing prostitution.

I put forth a motion that the moderator of this game ban this sick and demeaning resolution and give the barbaric and sick-minded author a warning about what is appropriate in a civilized society.

:x

That would be me.

Honestly, why'd I even bother coming to this site?

:(

Perhaps you came here because you wanted to share the good things of The People's Republic of Kepone. The path you have chosen, pacifist rather than military, is a fine example to your sister nations. Perhaps your proposal was a very sincere, if very misguided, way to say "Make love, not war."

Just because you considered neither the implications of your proposal, nor the abusive nature of the industry you would require nations to adopt, this does not mean that you are not a fine leader. "Freedom of Choice" means the freedom to choose poorly. This means freedom to learn and to grow.

Although I and all rational people must oppose your misguided proposal, I spread my arms out to your nation as a friend, O Kepone.
