Here's the text:
Take responsibility!
A resolution to restrict political freedoms in the interest of law and order.
Category: Political Stability
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: SMiro
Description: Does the public have some responsibility for itself and its own actions? They should & with this proposal, it would finally be true.
It is time to be responsible for ourselves! We can not stand by and watch our society crumble to these frivolous law suits!
Should we have the ability to go to the courts blaming the fast food industry for obesity? No, because you the customers already know how much fat is in your food. Should we pursue the game industry for violent Video games? No, let?s parent our children instead! We should be sickened to what our society is turning into!
I stand with you today to abolish these frivolous lawsuits. This is a proposal to ban frivolous law suits!
OK, that's a reasonably nice intro, but where's the proposal? I swear I copied the whole thing.
SMiro, there's nothing here to approve. Take it back to the shop and put an engine in it, and we might be able to take it for a test drive ...
Why are judges themselves not capable of determining if a lawsuit has merits? Further, how is an international legislative body competent to judge if an entire class of lawsuits are frivilous?
The decision to hear a case should be at the sole discretion of judges. There is no need to involve the legislature, let alone the UN.

It's a pity more nations do not follow the logic of this proposal
Why, whena lawsuit came along recently concerning hot coffee from a drive-through restaurant which was dumped in someone's lap, we had the lawyer placed in the stock and pillory, where he was pelted with rgreasy otten burgers.
The nation of Alsanchia prefers it's lawsuits to be decided by judges who are trained in the law, not by the media looking for sensationalism. In a surprisingly similar case, the judge decided that the restaurant was, indeed, negligent, as the woman received 3rd degree burns from the incident, cupled with the numerous prior complains against the restaurant concerning the same issues.
We beleive that a strong, independent judiciary provides the best bulwark against corporate abuse. This strikes a balance between unfettered corporate abuse and overly restrictive laws. The judiciary is capable of hearing the merits of each case and doling out compensation and punishment as approrpriate, which is something the legislature cannot do alone.
