edit: updated version posted.

UN Delegates, I am currently trying to get approval for the below proposal: (It is currently on the 2nd page of UN proposals)

If it is to your liking, please endorse it.

Thanks.

Proposal:

Space Exploration Code

A resolution to restrict political freedoms in the interest of law and order.

Category: Political Stability
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Sino China

Description: With the discovery of valuable energy resources on the moon, many nations are readying their militaries in an effort to claim as much territory as possible, possibly triggering a catastrophic battle above the skies.

As space travel and exploration are not monitored, I propose the creation of a UN sub-agency to regulate space travel and serve as a neutral arbiter in disputes related to space exploration.

The benefits of space travel are great and should not be ignored. Through exploration, existing technologies can be innovated and new technologies can be developed.

I propose that:

1. Each nation can independently pursue its own space program.

2. Each nation will send a delegate to a special UN meeting in order establish a UN sub-agency to monitor space travel and to create a code of regulations for future space exploration.

I'd vote for it. I can't help though. I have no idea what the strength thing is.

If the creation of an army counts as changing game mechanics, I will take it out.

The nation of Alsanchia supports this resolution, as space exploration is an endeavor essential to the future of humanity, and while it holds enourmous potential, it may also become a divisive issue. Thus, such an agency would work to assure the peaceful exploration of space and resolution of the inevitable disputes that will arise.

is this not predicated on a number of assumptions that may exist in some nation's universes and not in others?

At this time wouldn't the cost of getting a space craft to a heavenly body, like the moon would out wiegh the benifit of anything that could be found there.
So why would we need a proposal on this right now.
OOC(( it is a good idea though.))

Well, I guess the low gravity of the moon would make it an effective launching pad. :D

btw, UN delegates keep those approvals coming. The proposal is very close to reaching quorum.

Thanks a lot!!!
