Making Ammendments to Proposed Resolutions

24-01-2004, 11:35
Is there a process, formal or informal, of intrudcing ammendments to proposed resolutions, as I have seen some that I might support if they were revised after more debate, but are unacceptable in their current form?

No, there isn't really. Would what need to be done is to submit a new proposal which outlines the amendments in order to nulify the resolution.

Ideas for proposals CAN be amended, if the originator starts by posting HERE instead of in the UN Proposals list.

If you see a proposal with some good ideas but is likely to fail, drop the author a telegram. Invite them to post their proposal here in the UN Forum, and start an active debate on how to make it a passable resolution. If the author is willing to listen to suggestions, both positive and negative, it has a chance.

It is VITAL that the author adapt and adopt the best changes. Posting it here and then sending it back through the approvals process will only anger the regional delegates.

Give it a try.
