I need to know what you think of this proposal

please help get this off the ground and suppot my nation.

I'll get straight to the point. Teen pregnancys are rising aroos the world at an alarming rate. Teens are ignorant of the risks that unprotected sex brings. STI's are also on the rise. Most teenages dont know that are are 22 dfferent ones and have of them are life threataning. So my proposal is this; Make Sex Education centres for teenages but also for parents too. Sex is still a taboo subject for many. Some people think that getting sex education will make teens want to have more sex but thats not true. In countries like Holland children talk to parents about sex freely and comfortably. Figures show that this works. Only 4 out of every 1000 teens get pregnant a year while in places like the uk its 264 per 1000. This is a rediculously high rate that must come down. Please let this resolution pass. It will educate children and parents across the UN nations. It will protect genorations to come.

please post on what you think and tell me. I need endorsements to get this made into a proposal

if you are old enough to have sex, you are old enough to understand the value of a condom. dont wanna be prego? dont do the bang bang baby.

teens learn about sex ed in school. their parents should teach them, but i understand that many dont. either way, you cant prevent a natural occurrence (people wanting to have sex) from happening.

but since the schools offer sex ed, im not going to allot more money for a separate sex ed center. nuh-uh.

cant do the time? dont do the crime....

If schools actually offered ex ed classes then i wouldnt be making this proposal. And if you ask alot of teenages they arnt bothered about condoms or not. Most of the people i have talked to dont know much about the risks of sex and the contraception methods.

The completely open and hiptastically swinging nation of Berkylvania thinks you are making a false link here. A lower pregnancy rate in Holland than in England does not necessarily show that it is because children in Holland speak more frequently about their dinkys and yahoos than children in England.

Additionally, this proposal falls into the "Lots of Heart, Very little Head" category where your intentions may be well meaning, but your execution is flawed and/or non-existant. You offer no incontravertable link that opening a successful dialogue between parents and children will lead to lower teen pregnancy rates. It might, it might not. There may be other social factors involved that, unless they are addressed, render any new conversational initiative useless.

This resolution also advocates for the founding of beurocratic structure. Where does the money come from? How do these counciling centers function? What standard of sexual morality to they espouse? Where are they located? Why are actual centers needed? Wouldn't an information campaign be not only cheaper but just as effective?

Finally, why is teen pregnancy such a problem and what about nations that do not endorse any sort of premarital sex or contraceptive use (not to be offensive to my honored collegue, but Catholic Europe springs to mind). Why should the accepted morality of such nations be changed to solve a problem that may or may not actually be a problem in the first place?

While we salute your desire to 'do good', the nation of Berkylvania cannot support such a vauge and poorly thought out proposal.

MitsubishiSonyLockheed agrees with this proposal and is willing to implement the program of teaching our young about sex through theory and practice. In order to curb the spread of STD's we feel that any sex education teacher should have to undergo weekly tests in order to be sure that they won't pass them on to the students while demonstrating how much fun sex can be.

I'm going to vote aginst it purely on the strength, or lack thereof, of the writing.

# Clear point
# Body (brief discussion)
# Conclusion (what will change)

All written to the best of your ability, with proper use of paragraphs and punctuation.

Try it. It's fun.

Bahgum shall vote against it due to it's lack of quirky humour, therefore making the proposal out of line with the fun way in which this game is written. It's not too hard to liven up a serious issue, try it and Bahgum will campaign on your behalf!
Bahgum can watch CNN or read newspapers to be bored by overserious issues, lets have a little imagination when tacking these issues here, make it more interesting, not just morally self righteous and arse stiffingly serious.

The People's Republic of James Beardsley will also not support this proposal, due the details outlined by my peers, namely

A) National, not UN issue
B) Lack of proper respect for the English Language in the proposal
C) Lack of quirky humor

I submit that the proposal be rewitten in that it should be COMPULSARY TEACHING OF SEX EDUCATION FOR SECONDARY and TERTIATY SCHOOLS ... well then add a little quirky humor to it. I think this is more acceptable than a sex ed center.

Comments please...

IRL: I'm in my last year of high school and am sick to death of Sex Ed, we've had it twice a year, for two weeks, for the last five years. I really don't think I could handle any more condom demonstrations.
