We special Interest groups must unite and spend more money on all social causes, whether they are worthwhile or not!! JUST spend spend spend!!!!! Who cares if you don't have money!!! Just force other UN nations to give it to you via tax and spend proposals!
Here is another one for us special interest groups.. hee he hehehe

BLEEDING HEART FUND PROPOSAL

In light of the UN members only passing resolutions that spend money on all the bleeding heart causes, it has been concluded by this nation, that an objective, thoughtfull approach to running the world will never, ever be found.

Only ideas that promise to spend the most amount of money are 'good enough' for all the UN nations.

It is therefore proposed that a "Bleeding Heart Fund" be set up such that all UN members contribute to. They do so by taking all the money in the bank account and giving it to the bleeding heart fund. Not one penny is saved for oneself!

This Bleeding Heart Fund will be used to pay for all the other Resolutions passed by the UN.

We interrupt this usual babble to bring you this important message;

"I know this is a big joke to most of you, but the next time you get ready to do something stupid can you take a second and consider that there are some of us who are actually trying to run a simulated nation and would rather you refrain from attempting to win "The Biggest Dumbass on the Web" award?

Thank you."

We now return you to the typical drival of the masses...

Sounds good to me. It always annoyed me that the liberal, socialistic minds always always always seem to want to solve every single fiscal problem all the time by "taxing the rich". Yet never defining who the "rich" is.

If you "tax the rich" too much, they will invest in ways that their money will not be taxed to the max. They will move jobs in their companies to different countries. They will set up tax shelters and funnel money through other countries and/or take advantage of tax loopholes.

The rich are not stupid. They are not going to sit around and wait for the liberals to steal all their money in tax hikes. They are just going to make their money non-taxable, leaving you with a country full of poor people who contribute nothing fiscally, middle class people who pay for practically everything, and rich people who have their money hidden in lower tax rate investments, have their money in foreign companies, domestic tax shelters, and having good accountants that can find all the tax loopholes they will ever need.

I could get into the benefits of low taxation, and how it helps the economy, but it won't matter. Liberals never get past the cure-all, end-all, solve-all "solution" of "taxing the rich".

MSL feels that a "Bleeding Heart Fund" would be good for the world but will only support this fund if it deals exclusively with the private sector and not the corrupt governments which are usually responsible for the problems in the first place. As part of the BH Fund, MSL feels that we should include the structure for UN Peacemakers, where the BH Fund will recompense the participating nations for supplying troops used in UN Peacemaking ventures.
Are we to support this through UN dues or a grant system?

So you expect me to give you all of my money, and my countries money? No I won't.
24-01-2004, 04:04
Actually, a fund to help could aid the countries if they are in dire straights, how about a fund to have for the UN members to use for large scale projects, such as bridges, tunnels, railroads, etc.? That would be more logical and it would only help the UN members when they need help in construction or hard times.

This is a good idea. But it has to be tweaked, Only give as much as you want to give when the money is needed. Cause if you don't have money, EVERY country would be in the red

Yay, another hilarious nation which thinks its can actually change the world and takes the game far too seriously. Much funnier than us nations who play for a the odd laugh alongside our serious issues.

The Republic of SilveryMinnow suggests "A Resolution to Provide for Vaseline," regarding the Liberal Bleeding Heart fund.

Too often are responsible nations dry-raped for funds. This resolution offers some comfort towards the looting, pillaging, and burning of said nations by Fabian Socialists.

You are brilliant, and I must say you take this game soooo seriously, that's why you vote for every single bleeding heart proposal!

You obviously don't spend much time reading the forum. I've seen enough of Heru Ur's posts to know that he actually looks at the pros and cons before voting for a 'bleeind heart' proposal. He/She will only vote for such a proposal if the majority of the members in his region want it.

Nice ad hominum, and it's enough for me to not want to support your proposal.

However your proposal itself is flawed. You're essentially saying 'take all of my citizen's saving and all of my naitions savings and put them all into one massive fund'.

However you didn't define a 'banking accound'. New Eriu will consider abolishing banks and have savings in a government run treasury account instead.
