Question on Euthanasia...

17-01-2004, 03:47
Since there is already an issue present in the game where you decide whether or not euthanasia should be legal, what happens if (now that the UN has mandated it be legal) a UN nation chooses that it be outlawed?

If you outlawed euthanasia as a national issue, you get a telegram informing you that laws have been passed in your nation to force you into compliance with the UN.

If the UN doesn't have the power to enforce its resolutions, then what's the point of it? It only makes sense that you must obey them if you are a member.

The UN here should be like Earth. It's more of a loosely associated, confederated peaceful organization which protects human rights; not a hedgemony of immoral third-world dictators taking civil rights away. It should be more like NATO, not the world government.

The UN does not need to enforce such laws as it should not pass such laws.

Why is it that NOW people complain?! WHAT THE HELL?! The UN has been jamming crap resolutions down Nevermoore's throat since it joined! No more torture, more welfare, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP, ALL OF IT! But we stayed and we didn't complain because we accepted the majority decisions. FACE THE MUSIC; EUTHANASIA IS HERE NOW. If you don't like it then don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

I know this because had I recieved the issue (to legalize euthanasia, I would have approved it though I got the same message you refered to.
