It shows that there are people who do are and that we can beat this murder resolution if we try. We musn't be downbeat but positive.

You're a pessimist, but that's no bad thing.

In any case, we've jinxed it now by creating this topic. Nice going. ¬¬

I've been telegramming delegates who voted FOR and who have 5 or more votes, and quite a lot have changed since I sent messages, but I don't think it will be enough.

You must not give up. Even if we are defeated we must show them that they only just passed it.

Edit

That comment was a pessimistic one; it was a negative opinion stated as fact. A more realist-like comment would have been "The chance of this getting through is incredibly slim". As it is, the view you put forward was that there was no physical possibility; the most negative emphasis you could put on it.

Ok, you personally may be a realist, but "We Cannot Win" is a pessimistic comment.

I genuinely respect your will-power and determination to fight for your beliefs Catholic Europe, and we have crossed paths many a time over this resolution. People please don't be swayed by someone else's opinion, stand up for what you believe, and what you alone believe.

Hmm, that's rather strange, what with you talking to the 'other' side like that.

Ah Grande - I've caught you. Wanted to ask you, because you still haven't told me, after we pointed out all the loopholes in the text when you submitted it the second time, why you didn't fix them when you submitted this the third time?

Perhaps he didn't expect it to get through?!

Come on Grande, you've evaded this question too long. I want either an explanation or at least an apology to the people whose advice you ignored.

I'm sorry I don't believe I have heard of this, and even if i had, my actions will not be swayed by others. I am independent and always have been. All i know is that the 'mistakes' you point out in my proposal didn't seem to hinder the fact that it got to resolution.

Have all the delegates from the largest regions voted?
There are some delegates with hundreds of endorsements, if there are any of them left two delegates could provide the difference to defeat this proposal.

We should just keep on lobbying the pacific delegates.

Currently losing by 775 votes.

For the record, I voted for it but my delegate (Allanea) voted against.

All of the Pacific delegates and the RR delegate have voted against.

People, I think you may have blown your wad of ammo. I applaud your effort, and I'll abide by the decision if it fails (I voted FOR), but I just don't think there are enough big guns left out there. You put up a great fight, though, either way. Don't feel too bad.

The delegate from Rejected Realms has voted (270-something votes i think they have)
And thanks to telegrams from dedicated, involved members such as myself, the vote went to....AGAINST! Woohoo :) I was greatly pleased

I see that you have endorsed Allanea, which means you have cancelled out your own vote: one for, one against :!:

So close! :tantrum:

The resolution "Legalise Euthanasia" was passed, 10810 votes to 10031, and implemented in all UN member nations.

A margin that small is ridiculous.

I mentioned it in no less than two of the threads you used to promote the resolution, so you'd have to be selectively blind. Of course they didn't hinder its success much, because the majority of the people who vote don't look at the forums, and don't bother to check over proposals and resolutions with a critical eye. You still haven't properly told me why you didn't fix the numerous idiocies in that piece of legislation - all you've said is, basically, that you don't listen to anyone else, whether they have a valid point or not, which simply implies you aren't prepared to debate your opinions.
