Support Resolution to Ban Abortions

The resolution to ban Abortions needs support from delegates to get to a general election. Please show your support.
We of Istahan would not support this resolution for the same reason we are voting against the current Euthanasia resolution. Should the resolution be passed, then it means that the UN has too much influence on individual nations. The Istahani view euthanasia and abortion as national issues, not international issues.
Aside from that, we believe that the right to abortion is acceptable.

Godless Savage Garden believes abortion is crime prevention at its finest.
That, and a three-month-old fetus is a bunch of congregated cells.
What am I doing? This is the most beaten dead horse in the universe! Godless Savage Garden is hereby leaving this discussion.
Being anti-abortion as I am, I will vote no because this isn't a UN issue.
pro choice! (I'm a guy too) If you have a kid at 16, and it is just cells in the body, do what you want.
Sorry man. No approvals by the Opressed Peoples of Lumpy Nuts. We are not Pro-choice or Pro-Life. We are Pro-Common Sense.
Not in a million years will the people of The Empire of Los Manantiales accept a resolution like that.
Our motto is "My body, my choice" :!:

The Rogue Nation of Greenspoint is pro-life and has banned all abortions except where there is a choice between saving the baby or saving the mother.
However, we feel this is a National Sovereignty issue and not something to be addressed by the U.N.
We oppose this resolution and would vote against it if it gets to the floor for a vote.
Sofa King Country

Sofa King Country has passed laws banning abortions within its borders. That being said, we will throw our support against any resolution by the UN in this matter. This is a direct affront to the sovereignty of nations, and we will not support it.

Catholic Europe will support any resolution that seeks to ban the murder of unborn children.

All though it would be a wonderful thing to see abortion put to a final end, we have once again come to the spot where the UN is going too far. This just as euthanasia is not an issue of proper concern for the UN, even though a ban on abortion would be one of the best things morally that has been done in a while in the UN. However, I will neither support nor oppose this proposition, The Grand Duchy of All the Russias shall abstain, as a matter of principal.

No. You should work hard to make sure that such wonderful and moral proposals are passed. We must act to stop the legalized murder of children everywhere.
If I have to pick, no discussion, life or choice, I go choice. But if life would just make a concession or two, I'll give them a shot. This is how I would ideally like it set up:
*If you find out you're pregnant and IMMEDIATELY decide that you don't want it, you can go to a doctor, get certification that a) you found out on this date, b) you don't want it, and c) the doctor approves, you would be able to, within one week of you finding out, get an abortion. I'd make it less time, but things come up, like work or a snowstorm or something, and sometimes you just can't get down to the hospital when you want.
*You have to find out and get the abortion before the baby becomes a fetus, however, because that's when I say life starts. Everyone's got their own opinion as to when, and this is mine. Really no way to make everyone happy there, so just put up your opinion and hope for the best, as with the rest of this issue. If the baby's not a fetus yet, it's just some quasi-living blob that probably doesn't even realize it's alive yet. If the baby's a fetus and you find out then, too bad.
*The dead blob will then be removed and used for stem cell research. You might as well get SOME use out of the whole ordeal.

My apologies to you Catholic Europe, however in the euthanasia discussion it became rather clear to me we were no going to win based on pushing religious values. Many countries will never listen to us on that standpoint. The next logical line of defense was to argue about the violation of sovergnty that was about to occur. I cannot argue for this resolution for the same reason I argued against euthanasia, it would be a hypocracy, which I would like to avoid. However, since I appove of this resoultion in a religious sense, I will neither endorse nor oppose it.

I'm not a delegate but I would gladly support this resolution.
Normally, I believe the UN encroaches far to much on national sovreignty, but this would be acceptable. A fetus is a living human being in a different environment. This is a human rights issue. Abortion should be banned.

The Holy Empire disagrees with making this a UN decision. This is an individual nations decision, and as much as our nation is anti-abortion...this is not an idea that is acceptable for every nation to vote on. Just like the Euthanasia proposal. This is a topic that individual nations should make for their own countries specifically.
